Will get worse I fear unless some part of the organisation actually shows some kahuna's and as you say front foots. If it isn't sorted out now then good night nurse! Special Agent
What dirty tactics. This is not a game. There are horse and human lives at stake. Professionalism and transparency, my arse!! Admit mistakes were made, write the synthetics off, and move on.

They need to commit the resources to maintain them properly. That's the human resource expertise and the necessary equipment.

All that money is being pumped into novelty races on tracks that aren't up to spec.

curious
While we appreciate that stakes increases are hugely significant to the rejuvenation of this industry, NZTR Board and Management have also outlined key strategic priorities to be addressed over the next 12 to 36 months. These priorities identified by NZTR will continue to relentlessly improve the presentation and preparation of all facets of our industry which is paramount to improving wagering growth and will be maintained in key areas such as: Industry training and enhancing the welfare of our people and horses Enhancing track/surface performance for better racing outcomes Ensuring accountability for performance among clubs Achieving sustainable revenue growth Enhancing public relations to improve the image and reputation of the industry Edited October 23 by curious

HOW, WHICH AND WHEN? Without the current Entain and projected Avondale funding, I can't see what "robust strategies" are in place to produce this mythical golden answer. If you are going to relentlessly improve something you should have at least started the improvements. Does presentation and preparation only apply to what can be shown on Trackside? Horse facilities at Trentham are still poor. People and horse welfare must depend on who's looking. Last week's tragedy had given out plenty of warning bells. As far as horse welfare goes the wrong aspects are being concentrated on at who knows what cost. The war on safe track surfaces is ongoing. Some clubs will never be held accountable. It just goes on and on.
curious
And so the debacle from the lack of all those things continues today at huge costs to all participants and disrupted spring campaigns for a lot of horses.
Special Agent
The thing that gets me though is they will still pat each other on the back for the jobs poorly done.
