Assange Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Just looking at fields for Saturday for Ellerslie and Otaki. Both similar mix of races but can anyone tell me why Ellerslie Stakes $30,000, $55,000 & $65,000 while Otaki $25,000, $40,000 & $50,000. I don't understand the funding differences. Quote
Doomed Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Yes, Ellerslie put in an extra $5,000 of their own money per race. I don't really see the point myself. Not sure how many extra horses and how much extra turnover you get for a $55,000 race compared to a $50,000 race. Hardly seems cost effective. 2 Quote
Dark Beau Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 I for one wont be betting on at Ellerslie until I have confidence pn/in how the bloody track plays, especially the corner into the straight. Quote

So if Ellerslie put in $5000 how does that equate to a $15,000 difference in the top stake? Quote
