The fantasy: Mr T will be claiming Bocce if it wins. Placed in a Listed race and close 4th in G1 Sistema Stakes 5 starts ago. Blinkers on, Ear Covers pre-race off. 

The reality: Won it's first start then blinkers first time for next race and it runs 4th. Next 3 starts blinkers off and best run in G1 mentioned. Side Winkers added next race and 10.5 lengths away G1 Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes. Out for a spell, coming back in Oct. for a 2nd with first time Ear Covers pre-race. Next up runs a great 3rd, same gear. Side winkers off latest start.

So, current start we have blinkers on again (failed) and ear covers off (worked).

This meeting last year the rail was at 6m after being at 3m the week before as it is today.

of the 8 races run 4 were run at a slow tempo, 2 at even tempo and 2 at fast tempo on my ratings.

No leaders won and nothing on the rail won. 3 wide or wider seemed to be the spot

Ellerslie has played pretty fair this season so far  but if the above pattern develops early it could be worth following
