Chief Stipe
WIth the forecast I'd say they'll be putting at least 25mm of irrigation on later in the week. Shame they can't irrigate raceday morning. Hopefully the reservoir is full and they don't have to put high cost Waikato water on it! There is a limit to how far you can spill Lion Red. FFS that can't be right. If it is then it's a worry. Perhaps they are filling the pond via the track?

Chief Stipe
155mm equals over 11 million litres. Which is about $22,000 worth of Waikato Lion Brown. 1

Trojan
Have they changed the rules for Ellerslie? According the Track Curator they started irrigating at 8pm last night and didn't finish until 6:30 am this morning - RACEDAY!! Seems the only way they can keep it soft is by mechanical means! 13mm tynes used on the aerator! Race Day Weather: Fine Track: Soft 5 Moisture Meter: 25.3% Rail: Out 5m Rain: No Rain Last 24 Hours | No Rain Last 7 Days Irrigation: 15mm Irrigation Applied Overnight Weather and Track updated at 7.09am Saturday 7 December
