Betfair - Wagertool

Newmarket

Recommended Posts

If anyone has a betfair account, could be worthwhile trying wagertools free trial. If you only bet on nz racing/ harness this is not for you, as pools pretty crap, but if you bet on sport or aus racing, it is very good.

Is info telling you how it works, use on iphone, android and pc. Takes a wee while to get used to it, but very handy and i am sure some will like it. Just to tell you a bit about it, shows all graphs and other options, but the one i use most is the multibet. What this does is equally divide bets placed on all horses selected, so amount could be $10, you may have 6 horses out of the 10 horses selected that the return would be roughly the same, all with one click. Of course depends on odds what return you get back, but it is very handy tool. Will have a go later and post before race.

I haven't used any of the products available, but BetAngel is one I've read about that is used quite a bit for trading. There are heaps of them and I expect many offer similar functionality.

For those that can write software, you can develop your own version of these types of tools by requesting API keys (which you apply for), and then you can set up various capabilities that may suit your own needs and they can be integrated with other things to control your betting, whether that be a database or simple spreadsheets of things.

Remembering that these products tend to be betfair focused (or BetDaq), so don't provide much integration from other 'operators' as far as I am aware of anyway. Whereas, your own product can integrate with things like TAB/bookie odds to give a fuller picture of markets and what is happening price wise elsewhere. And if understanding markets price shifts on horses you may have been interested in, you can also store the data you obtain.

The tools are probably a better interface than the website or betfair app - which is quite limited in my opinion.

Mardi,

I made slight profit with these bets yesterday, so I am sure if i continue with my analyisis i will get there. Your miles ahead of myself and most on here regarding writting software etc, and to be honest, its just a bit of fun for me on a sat arvo, but of course i want to win longterm, in fact being slightly up each weekend would be good.

This was my main point of this thread, sorry to all if it came across a little boring, was to explain a little about it.

My big problem over the years was that i sometimes left out fav runners, just because i wanted 10-1 shot to bring me even for day. I was too greedy for many years, with mainly losing days.

Using wagertool on aus racing gives me the chance to include as many as i want, at one easy click. I know it is not for you mardi, but would be great if some could try and give advice. I am open for all advice, Cheers

Wish I could write software. Have only just taught myself a basic LOOKUP using Open Office. Now I can pull info. from different sheets and even different books. Saves me hours of typing that I did over the years. Just been playing with a spreadsheet that can give me a 7 generation pedigree chart with info I want. The only thing I type in is the name of a horse in cell A1.

I'm not that clever with things like this but was chuffed when I did it.

Newmarket, have a look at rewardbet, some guys I know set this up a few yrs ago, it's far better than what you have here.

To use rewardbet you need to have certain aus accounts, which i dont have, and not interested in opening.

How can you say it is better than wagertool if you have not used it?

Nice feel the fear.

Will stick to what i am doing which is pretty basic. I have made money each sat for the past 12 weeks, just betting on metro aus meetings, doing exactly what i did yesterday. So far up around 20% on that time, which i am more than  happy with. For my betting, i require best odds for all horses i select, which is why betfair is by far best option. If i was calculating bets, investing at nz tab, i would have lost money, simple as.

What has been suggested by some is great, but really if you bet on major aus racing or sport, just concentrate on sport and horse selecting, and place with betfair, no need to make it hard

Small punters can bet into exotics with Reward bet, its a fantstic tool.

$10 bet say is spread across, win quin tri first 4, however you want, you can gear it more to exotics or win. 1c units.

Its a dream system for small bettors.

Ta, but i am only interested in betfair odds

Sweet no problem to me.

For me I get most of my bets on by 10am, so BF is a waste of time for me. My edge is in finding pricing before it moves much.

I was just offering a fantastic tool that can skew the odds a little in your fav as a small punter.

Yeah thanks, but i select mine on betfair just a few minutes before. I understand you do most of your selecting on nz racing, but i am doing better without it, everyones different
