Something is not right

One week after a red hot fav from the usually all conquering Te Akau stable flops at Trentham another (Damask Rose $1.90) cannot even run in the first three in R7 Ellerslie today. On the face of it one might be able to do very well on New Years day by factoring their runners out of your analysis. As to the  'Why" I have neither an answer or a theory but I do refer to my topics title.

Interesting performance given this.

They have struggled at the new Ellerslie for some time. Over 80 starters for 4 winners.

Also is there an element of the new prize money catching up, better horses staying not being sold etc?

30 wins in front on the Premiership

Strike rate of 5.5 and $3m in stakes.  Not tracking to badly with the big days still to come and some very good cattle on the comeback from injury.

Blame the shyte track down the shute for 2 year old hiccup.  Both pulled up shinny after their runs on the concrete.

As for Damask Rose I talked my mates out of backing it.  Second up after a very long spell due to injury, drawn wide and still 10 weeks to the Kiwi B.  Still three weeks to the million dollar race at KM night.

Damask Rose was one of many casualties at Ellerslie KM night.  Bone chip I think I read somewhere.

Picking up the small fry. Especially SI.

I'm sure they are due a huge day soon.
