Alice Springs Race2 somehow looks like the place pool was manipulated on Tatts Bet and NSW Tab

Certainly looks like it - and is a problem for offering multis on best 'fo and tote'. Although I expect some bookies would void things. Any races with small pools are unlikely to be offering tote derivative best ofs to any large degree. Tote manipulation is a rule violation I thought. But still, an issue that some might take advantage of.

Yeah I think these were brought into their rules regulations regarding pool manipulation when they pulled off that massive coup at Parklands Greyhounds which ended up in court

Very well or maybe not so well  played as the Bookies pay mid tote that’s why NSW and Tatts were nearly identical 

Obviously they targeted Alice Springs with small pools easy to do

Unfortunately for them they didn’t read the fine print

Used to happen a lot in the dogs and harness as well. Especially around min dividend. But they changed that so that if a dividend had to be made up to the $, they reduced the payout to the other divs.

I'd prohibit bookies from offering tote derivative products. Let them fly solo than prices requiring a security blanket. Better still, take takeout down to 7% and lets see how long tote +5% lasts.

Happened in NZ as well. In the eighties. Current day prominent owner cleaned out illegal bookies around the country with a trotter race 1 Whangarei on Sunday when punters still waking up. Apparently several bookies couldn't pay.
