Trojan
The track is appalling. Soft 5 at the start of the day and just over 5mins after the first race upgraded to a G4. Yet it was faster than that wasn't it. The 3yr olds in Race 2 equal the NZ record for 1200m going 1:06.51. Yeah right! Oh that's right the electronic timing is still stuffed someone was timing the race off the TV in the only stand left on the course.
SLB2.0
It's a joke indeed - and old Scooby on the other channel seems to think the track played well after being hammered. Three meetings in 3 months... would you call that being hammered?

He's like most of that Trentham OBC can't see past the last 200m of the home straight and I'd say it was about 40 years since any of them have walked the track. The restricted view of the infamous 1200m chute is appalling.

Weird actually running a forum where you moderate the hell out of it right down to deleting posts that you don't agree with or that "make me look stupid" or you just don't understand. Unfortunately that is symptomatic of the malaise that affects the whole industry. Envy, tribalism,...

There's more horses go round at Foxton every fortnight and the track is used for gallops in between.

Wingman
6 minutes ago, Pete Lane said: And yet you still post on there. A very reasonable rebuttal. When I became aware of the two 'competing' sites I over time decided this site is by way the superior of the two, unless you like picking competitions. So why post on an inferior site CS? I look at the other site, sometimes read some excellent posts, I also read many excellent posts on this site and the bottom line is regardless how annoying Chief Stipe can be, he is not vindictive. The same cannot be said for the other site. Now that said back to the title of this post "Trentham is a joke' I agree regarding what the idiots in charge have down to the aesthetics, having to watch the first half of sprints down the once famous Shute is an appalling disgrace. That is however the result of selling your land. The place looks like a train wreck waiting to become a development site. Why would one depress themselves by turning up and having memory after memory being destroyed in front of your eyes. Where I disagree is re yesterdays track presentation. It was significantly better than last weeks meeting and ignoring the laughable race times gave every runner a genuine chance. There was no bias, the best horse on the day won if it was given a professional ride. By not looking at the surrounding 'train wreck' a bit like blocking out power lines impeding an otherwise lovely view, I enjoyed yesterdays racing at Trentham and kudos to the people that improved the condition of the track. 2

But how did they do it? In my opinion it was no different to the previous week except most of the horses were a big step up in class. Wingman
I do not know how, yet the reality is yesterday they produced an improved decent racetrack. Now stop being unnecessarily argumentative and annoying or you will be sent to the naughty boys room.

I'll ask you a question, Pete. Why can't Chief Stipe disagree or criticise something, but Scooby can do the same and have no pushback? He typically gets no pushback because he deletes anyone who disagrees with him, and he takes any disagreement as a personal attack. Nothing good has ever come from an echo chamber. And before you tell me I do the same with Chief Stipe, I don't even know his last name, I don't know him from a bar of soap, and we have disagreed on many things. But the difference between Scoobyshit and Chief Stipe is that Chief Stipe doesn't resort to personal attacks and lies, and manners maketh man is why I tend to enjoy the company of his type, not the lying, website forum-dictator class of Phillip Leigh McKenzie.

SLB2.0
You might want to take a look at yourself, Pete. I'm not defending Chief... I don't care what or where he posts. I call out hypocrisy (and I love doing it), and that's my only agenda. I also call out bad behaviour, and your friend Scooby is not a man of integrity when it comes to owning and operating an online forum. But, without Chief's posts over there, the site is just about dead anyway.
