So do you think the winter gallopers might race all summer and the summer ones all winter on the poly which is always good?

I think that this is the biggest threat to NZ racing.  Turning Turf tracks into hydroponic sand/turf tracks and AWT's.  Actually it is noticeable that those who train on the Cambridge AWT perform better at Ellerslie than most.  BUT that form doesn't transfer to a Good 4 or 3 OZ turf track.

And it is hard on horses from out of town, to have to race on a foreign surface.

Riccarton horses can work on it every day and become well- conditioned to the surface....which is excellent at the moment. 

Now that poly track is your fav…. that nag won well. Mind you, first time it’s been up front so about time you woke up and realised it’s a huge advantage in front.
