Note that it states that Entain operates as a Sports and Gaming company! Not sure if it has any interest in horse racing investments around the world but it certainly does not appear to have any expertise with racing? This shouldve been taken into account when McAnulty the NZ Tab signed it away to Entain. Short term gain but not for the future of racing in NZ! Thing is the money being given to stakes currently is just a band aid and this money is being badly spent unfortunately. 1 Quote

The odds setters are running scared as they have been burnt so many times. They are opening the prices at a more even spread, but the issue for them doing that and trying not to get burnt on every horse is the prices start creeping further and further from their true price. You just need to look at the opening prices of some of the outsiders. They will open them at 41.00 even if they are realistically a $100 dividend, and then a couple of hours after opening they will drift out to 101 or longer. Same applies to the favourites, realistic 1.80 chances are opening at 2.40 or longer sometimes. There is great value on many runners at every meeting because of this. Rule of thumb is back outsiders late and if you can recognize value on the favourites back them early. 1 Quote
Brodie Posted Tuesday at 01:09 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 01:09 AM Does anyone know for certain where the fixed odds are being set from? Is it NZ or is it the Ozzies setting them? Nowornever is correct they are far more conservative on more horses early on than they used to, The thing is that a lot of it just not add up at all? They show several horses moving in on the fixed win dramatically a d then You go on and check the $ tracker and there is buggerall number of bets or money on that horse! So they are not exactly telling us the truth there! The TAB website for the horses comments is just an absolute waste of time as they have no idea and continually post rubbish! does anyone actually think the TAB are currently in particularly good hands going forward??? Very easy to become a gambling addict online, everything's so easily accessible while sitting at home, many gambling sites exploit that fact too, I could contradict myself though by saying is it a gambling addiction as such or a internet one? I've played the online casino, bet365 firstly then some other sites, very addictive the flashing light, spinning wheels , card games etc etc can suck you in, don't play them now, only lotto weekly and some scratches. Today my TAB account is being reopened, had a break for 2 months, I purely got sick of it so one day just put the account on hold, haven't really missed it, you can survive without it, Entain won't survive long though without it, gambling can be a nasty habit sometimes, I don't think that many of the racemeetings they cover are necessary, hence the headline 47 meetings today, if you start punting on races from places you ain't heard of that's sad.
