Gore Races Abandoned

 Today’s Gore Races have been abandoned due to excessive wind gusts.

The riders, club and RIB are all in agreement after assessing the conditions. NZTR will investigate a transfer date after talking with relevant groups, including Entain NZ.

Just read Tuesday, would Canty horses stay over for the weekend or just not bother now.

I'd say so mostly, since they've travelled that far. Just a bit of a logistical issue for trainers with staffing etc.

Bit of a shambles all around regarding Gore, not sure they will get another date, a new date at Riverton Sunday compensates I guess,  wee bit odd just 2 days before Wingatui, by this time last year they had no races in Southland , this spring might be worse than last year, not unique for Southland though.

Seems Gore wanted to pull pin before Thursday but NZTR knew better, or thought they did.

And Messara suggested Riverton and Gore move to Ascot Park with its Moonie Valley straight, yet Winton which is probably the driest climate wise is decommisioned, weird indeed.

As they have proven over and over ,we aren't in a position to close a single venue.
