A Gun Runner half-brother (hip 116) to MGISW Colonel Liam (Liam's Map) continued the high demand for the Three Chimneys stallion, selling to Coolmore and Peter Brant for the day's second-highest price of $2.3 million.

This is the pair's second pricey Gun Runner colt in nearly as many minutes as they also went to $1.5 million to secure hip 98.

The son of Bernardini-daughter Amazement was bred in Kentucky by GRS and Phillips Racing Partnership and consigned Monday by Darby Dan Farm as agent.

“He was very nice horse,” said Coolmore's M.V. Magnier. “We were lucky enough to have Sierra Leone and he was exceptionally popular at stud this year. And Gunite is going very well. All the lads liked him, Peter Brant liked him. It's a great pedigree from a very good farm. We haven't decided where he is going to go, but he will stay in the U.S.”
