DELTA PRINCE (h, 6, Street Cry {Ire}–Delta Princess, by A.P. Indy), last up the backstretch, put together a big stretch rally to take the GI Maker’s 46 Mile S. going away Friday at Keeneland. Winner of the GII King Edward S. last summer at Woodbine, the homebred missed by a neck in the GI Fourstardave H. and was fourth in the GI Woodbine Mile. Filling out the trifecta in the GIII Bold Ruler H. on dirt Nov. 2 at Aqueduct, he made the lead into deep stretch of the GI Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational S. before settling for third last out Jan. 26 at Gulfstream. Taking a flood of late money to go off the narrow favorite at 8-5 here, the dark bay was second-last behind a :24.25 quarter and dropped back to trail off of a :47.79 half. Starting to pick up his feet on the latter half of the far bend, he swept past the leaders outside the sixteenth pole and kicked clear to a 1 3/4-length success. Clyde’s Image (Get Stormy) ran a huge race to get second in a photo at 46-1. Lifetime Record: 13-5-3-4, $1,173,819. O-Stronach Stable; B-Adena Springs (KY); T-James A. Jerkens.
