Today, we ask Sandy Hawley. “I’d pick Omaha Beach (War Front). To me, he was really impressive when he won the Arkansas Derby. I can see why Mike Smith picked him. He has a little bit of natural speed and that will help him stay out of trouble, and he has a lot of ability. It’s a wide-open race and that’s what makes it hard when you ask me to pick a horse to ride. There are several nice horse in there and several nice horses coming off of big wins. It’s a great betting race, a great race for the fans to bet. There’s no clear-cut favorite. You can find a 10-1 shot and he might look as good on paper as the 7-2 shot.
