Brodie
Question needs to be asked, why does Addington always extend their nominations to the next morning???? This week the meeting is on Friday and nominations were meant to close on Monday afternoon. For some unknown reason they have once again been extended to close at 8.30am? There we’re 160 nominations for 9 of its races, so an average of close to 18 horses per race! Does anyone know why they continue to do this every meeting, even when they have plenty of nominations? Why don’t they just make it Tuesday 8.30am?????????
Happy Sunrise
Maybe it just allows the people involved eg trainers and owners to place their horse better ( ie: transfer between meetings / get away from fields that are too strong for their horse...Purdon effect? ) and then it makes it more likely to have consistent field numbers when fields are made and fewer races are consequently decimated by scratchings. Just speculating, as I don't really know why they do it. My answer may be starting at the mile mark at Addington off a bad draw...
Brodie
I wondered whether that was the reason as well, but the thing is if you don’t want to line up against the AllStars then you can see the noms and withdraw them! It is done every week, so a bit puzzling!
