Weasel Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 Just had another look at Tai Ho's win in the Steeplechase yesterday...he gave that horse about 10 decent hits with the whip between the 800 and 200 (having taken the lead prior to the 800m mark)...and a few more after the last when the race was not quite his ... am I wrong in thinking he lost his irons upon landing after the fence before the final straight? He is certainly kicking for all he's worth and his feet are all over the place! Great horsemanship? Quote
Freda Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 Can't say I noticed the irons...but I watched the race thinking bloody hell, Stu, don't kill the old chap at the start of the season, I bet the horse slept well. Quote
Weasel Posted May 20, 2019 Author Posted May 20, 2019 Wasnt Mr Higgins the one who copped a big holiday last winter for overuse of the whip? Grand National? Quote

It was probably the most awful ride...aesthetically speaking....in the history of jumps riding... ....a sack of spuds would have looked more solid Higgins was dead scared he'd get overtaken.....his head was moving around like a demented chook...
