Lady Prancealot (Ire) (f, 3, Sir Prancealot {Ire}–Naqrah {Ire}, by Haatef) found daylight along the rail in deep stretch and charged to the lead in the dying strides to best Mucho Unusual (Mucho Macho Man) by 3/4 lengths in the GI American Oaks at Santa Anita Saturday. The 8-5 favorite was angled to the hedge and was taken up off heels and shuffled towards the back of the field as longshot So Much Happy (Twirling Candy) set the pace through fractions of :24.45 and :48.67. The bay filly improved her position on the far turn and was forced to wait for racing room behind a wall of horses in upper stretch. She darted to the rail when a narrow seam opened and outbattled Mucho Unusual to the wire, completing the 1 1/4 miles in 2:01.70.

Lady Prancealot took the GIII Honeymoon S. over the Santa Anita turf course in June and was third in the Aug. 17 GI Del Mar Oaks. Shipped east, she was sixth in the Sept. 7 Jockey Club Oaks Invitational at Belmont Park and was making her first start since winning the Oct. 18 GIII Valley View S. at Keeneland.

Lifetime Record: 17-5-4-3. O-Jules & Michael Iavarone & Jerry McClanahan. B-Tally-Ho Stud (Ire). T-Richard Baltas.
