South Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 What a super star Ablaze is. The world is his oyster. In his fourth start over the jumps he wins the grand annual! Yet another example of the tough South Island breed. Fascinating pedigree - plenty history behind Ablazes breeding. Bred by Brian Anderton and Mickle Weastell carrying on Mary Dalley's "light" breed. Raise the Flag is creating a cult following in Australia - if only NZ racing catered for these horses here. Zed Em was outstanding too! Go the NZ bred. 2 Quote
Shad Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Underrated sire, raise the flag, very well bred himself, only got nine mares for last season, you would think whiterobe would put him to more of their mares, ablaze left nz with 6 wins and 90k in stakes, now the winner of 13 races and at a guess over 500k, bakery hill, riding high, markwood, flying agent all preformed well today, the breed certainly need time and patience, when you look at the flat performers like broadside, civil disobedience, parthesia, etah James and now ablaze, Australia trainers just seem train them better, gives a bit of hope tor a rising 6yr old by the same sire.Great to see them doing well, and sire standing for a modest fee of 6k. 1 Quote
