Chief Stipe Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 The Northland Breeder's Stakes and the Wanganui Guineas are on the SAME day I.e. tomorrow 5 September 2020. Has that happened before? Has the Breeder's Stakes ever been raced NOT at Ruakaka? At Te Rapa (the new NZ gallops headquarters). Has our 3yr old pattern be screwed or is this a one off? Quote

NBS move to Te Rapa was a one-off caused by stupid decision-making by 'the powers that be' refusing to include Ruakaka when reframing the resumption of racing during the Covid/insolvency crises. Worse than that my understanding is that the change occurred because of the Level-3 in Auckland restricting travel. Which as it turns out was over well in advance of the meeting. Even before Nominations had closed! Needless to say the track at Ruakaka wouldn't have been throwing sand around like Te Rapa. I see the whole 3yr old pattern is screwed at the moment. A compressed timeline into the HB Guineas. I'm not sure what trainers feel about the programmes. I doubt many would comment publicly anyway. Quote
Thomass Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 FFS, is there ANYTHING going well at the mo? Quote
