Bert Swney recently passed away after many years of declining health . Bert stood stallions in Matamata , possibly best known was Drums of Time . In later years moved to Levin where along with his wife Dorothy trained the odd horse . Bert was always happy to have a chat and always had an opinion about the state of racing . A genuine man who liked a punt .
