Sale Racecourse is scheduled to host a bumper 10-race card on Sunday afternoon, and HorseBetting.com.au’s Victorian racing analyst presents his best bets and quaddie numbers with odds from Australia’s top bookmakers. The track is rated a Soft 6 with the rail out 4m for the entire circuit, and the meeting is set to get underway at 10:45am AEST.

Sale Best Bet: Cicero Field

In the opening leg of the quaddie, the Jason Warren & Dean Krongold-trained Cicero Field looks perfectly placed to bring up consecutive wins over this track and distance. Despite bombing the start on July 9, the five-year-old Deep Field mare rounded up her rivals in impressive fashion to go on to score by two lengths. She returns to Sale off a five-week freshen up, and with better barrier manners on Thursday she will be simply too good for this field. She has the sharpest turn of foot in the race and showed last time out that she can sustain a long run.

Best BetRace 6 – Cicero Field (#6) $2.50 with Sportsbet

Next Best for Sale: Ima Dozer

The Christine Sexton-trained Ima Dozer may not get a better chance to break his maiden tag than what he gets here at Sale at his seventh career start. The four-year-old Delightful Choice gelding has put together three straight runner-up performances, including over the 1415m at Sale on July 25. He steps up to the 1746m here and in barrier three draws to do no work under Teo Nugent. He travelled three wide with no cover last time out, so to get within 1.5 lengths of the winner suggests he is perfectly placed to break through here.

Next BestRace 5 – Ima Dozer (#5) $2.35 with Ladbrokes

Sale Value Bet: Portobello Road

Having his first start for the Tony Rosolini stable, Portobello Road looks poised to run a smart race as he resume from a six-month spell. The three-year-old Dream Ahead colt was a smart all-the-way winner at Ipswich two starts back on December 9, and in a race bereft of early speed on Thursday, he is set to get a quiet time of it out in front. With the in-form Celine Gaudray hopping on and claiming 2kg, Portobello Road will go around with just 54.5kg on his back and should he hard to run down over 1213m despite monster odds of $61.

Best ValueRace 8 – Portobello Road (#6) $61 with Sportsbet
