Gammalite
Steve Irwin , the amazing QLD crocodile Hunter, would of been All Over this bloke in Race 8 at Ballarat tonight . HEZACROCWATCHER !! A terrific horse and great odds tonight. If old mate Steve was around , I would point out the 2 Bettor's Delight ex-pat kiwis off the Front row as being too hard to beat. Steve would say "Crikey ! looks like a kiwi trifecta !! get on it then. Although this 'Croc' is a reeeaaall beauty!! . and will have them for dinner !!!" 3
Karrotsisback
1 thing I have noticed Gamms is some Camb horses, e.g. Spirit of Anzac, actually think you pointed that 1 out. Then Shanlou wins at Menangle last week, also Bankers Gold placed 2nd in a group 3 & same race Viva Las Vegas placed 3rd (the last 3 are ALL Lous so kept an eye on). Anyway point making is ALL 4 were Camb horses now over there & straight off the bat pretty much, winning or placing Group 3 level at Meng. Does that mean Camb horses are actually Menangle level .... ? Also remember Red Reactor winning soon after arrival in Oz in a Group 3 at Menangle.

I think all raced kiwi horses are potentially Menangle level , because they are trained to run 'distance', much more so than Australian trainers train their horses. (2400-3200m) Menangle suits 'stayers' who can hold speed for an extended period, thus it very much suits 'distance' horses, even though the races are generally over a mile. Hezacrocwatcher running 1.58 several times at Cambridge winning and placing there 6 times last summer, ,He is undefeated in Australia in 3 starts now, running 1.56 at both Maryborough and Melton , therefore would run better than 1.54 Easily at Menangle on the big mile track. probably near 1.52.5 . He's pretty good.
Karrotsisback
Teaz, we need to get you back commentating. Like Mana would be a good start. How can we scheme this up lol. Actually not really joking. Will elaborate when time is right. Actually funnily enough remember I had rage not long ago when a friend of mines son missed travelling team Olympics 7s mens this year. Good news he’s been signed again WAY before his 7's contract’s up for the next 3 YEARS. Hahaha, they were worried he was going to sign elsewhere after the big burn. Anyway sometimes they learn when they have made a mistake! Ok thanks for that Gamms re stayers and Menga miles. One of the Bettor's Delight kiwi's was a late scratching , the other one 'My Bettor Lady" (who won 2 in NZ for Andrew Stuart) led and won very easily for Kate Gath. Had to sub in another ex-kiwi the Art Major horse 'Sheffield Sparky' to still get the trifecta. then a meezly $30 div??? . so even with 100ew on the croc, and 2 x trifecta collect, still managed to lose on the race...... So as Steve Irwin would say "Crikey Gamma !, you completely f'ked that up mate ! we'll be as hungry as these bloody croc's , unless you can actually tip a winner ! "lol........ RIP... Steve Irwin (1962-2006) A true Australian legend. sadly he was never a winning chance last night. He didn't trial well enough last week. A recent stable change away from any of NZ owners control hasn't helped either and that battling run last night was the worst of his career. Australian trainers especially young ones don't very much listen and don't appreciate that being given a horse like that is a privilege few people get. He will probably fade away into obscurity.

Any qualified horse in NZ especially “The Spitfire” now retired, would be competitive at Menangle. Sorry hadnt read Gamma’s plst saying the same thing! Was a bit worried for your health a few years ago at Forbury when you had to commentate the first race! You were so out of breath, had you been running before getting to the microphone or did you have a VIRUS?? My plane was 2 hours late and i got to the track while horses were walking around at the start.sripea wouldnt put racw back 5 minutes so i had to sprint up the stairs and i didnt even have time to unpack my gear before they srarted. My breath returned enough to get through but i suffered a panic attack. It actually triggered a few more after that too. An anxiety that got me in the hannon memorial later that year and also in a Te Aroha hurdle race. I battled with ut for some time until Davey Mac slapped me back into reality and it never happened again. So yes it was funny but it had a serious side. I was offered the chance to get Ryan Bradley to call the race from the studio but my pride got in the way. You wouldnt believe the stress I used to go through with rhe travel.

Jason, I didnt actually think it was funny at the time, quite the opposite. I am sure that many people that didnt know what actually happened would now be appreciative of explaining it to us. I would say that commentating is not an easy act and NZ has been blessed on the whole with excellent commentators in all 3 codes. Pleased you are over your anxiety attacks now and keep your chin up and I am sure that the right opportunity will come along.
