Gammalite
The sure fire sign of a fixed race is when a mystery betting plunge appears on the bookies books. Team driving is a different thing (as driver's just working togeather to obtain the best possible result for all their horses) Often NOT stablemates as most seem to think either. Race FIXING is much more serious , as runners are not given the chance at the best possible result by their drivers. It's a SET-UP for one plunge horse to win. Still very hard to prove. In the dozens of races run in Australia daily there will be one somewhere. Bankstown yesterday race 5 , had the early favourite trained by Dean McDowell (son of Colin ) and his Mrs Kerry training. BUT they had a second string runner. Sensationally backed in for a stack, in the last 5 minutes betting before the race, was the kiwi bred Bettor'sDelight horse BETTOR SENSATION. 7-1 odds into even money. Obviously knowing it would beat stable-mate. The race developed nicely with some 'help' around, and BETTOR SENSATION in by 3 lengths easy. !!! That's how you do it folks. nothing to see here.

This was highlighted recently by a certain Oz site, just saw a snipe of article & the graph of plunge. Think from memory, may have this wrong, but it was at Meng & a Grimson horse was fav short priced fav, then Trainor horse plunged hard. Think recall you saying these peeps are mates, train together or something. Anyway yeah the original opened up hot fav, didn't win, the new fav won, that had opened at maybe 4-5th fav. Im not saying there was anything weird going on, what I am highlighting is that this journo specially pointed this out & wrote an article about it. So yes things like that do cause red flags for some.

Young kiwi lad Jack Trainor might be a threat to the McCarthy domination. Funny things happen in NSW . A decade ago the states leading driver GREG BENNETT, and one of the Fitzpatrick trainers were warned off. for paying a NSW steward off , to Not swab certain winning horses at certain venues. crazy stuff. I believe Greg has served his time and applied for a licence again a year or 2 back , but was refused at that time, not sure if he has tried since. Trainer Cameron Fitzpatrick still with 2 years to go of his 12 year Disqualification. As for the steward , don't know. Probably left the country and officiating in NZ somewhere ???? lol......
