Stay Foolish Snatches ‘Gold’ From Manobo

An all-the-way winner of the G3 Red Sea Turf H. last time at King Abdulaziz Racecourse a couple of hours to the west, STAY FOOLISH (JPN) (h, 7, Stay Gold {Jpn}–Kauai Lane {Jpn}, by King Kamehameha {Jpn}) sat a perfect inside trip, albeit from off the pace this time, and outfinished the previously undefeated Manobo (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) in Saturday's G2 Dubai Gold Cup over the metric two miles at Meydan Racecourse. The victory was the second on the program for Japan–a four-time winner in Saudi at the tail end of last month–after stablemate Bathrat Leon (Jpn) (Kizuna {Jpn}) caused a major surprise for Team Yahagi in the G2 Godolphin Mile. The winner's sire won the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic in 2001.
