Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted April 16, 2022 Journalists Share Posted April 16, 2022 Under Oath added to an already great weekend for WinStar stalwart Speightstown with a 'TDN Rising Star'-worthy graduation at Keeneland Saturday for trainer Todd Pletcher, who also conditioned his sire. The WinStar homebred set the pace in his six-panel unveiling in the slop at Gulfstream, but weakened late to be third in that Mar. 12 event. Hammered down to 6-5 favoritism for this second go, the chestnut raced back off the pace this time around, running off the fence in mid-pack off sharp opening splits of :22.13 and :45.40. Still left with plenty to do while some four wide in the lane, Under Oath kicked it into high gear in mid-stretch, charging clear of all but Juddmonte firster Artorius (Arrogate), who unleashed an eye-catching rally of his own, to win by two lengths.
