Doomed Posted December 10, 2022 Posted December 10, 2022 I see they had a massive crowd at Invercargill today, probably their biggest day of the year I suppose. I wondered why they only wanted to run 8 races with all those people there? All over by 4.30. The Addington trots run 13 or 14 races during cup week when they have a big crowd. I see the southland dogs run 16 tomorrow. Surely they could have programmed an extra maiden race or, god forbid, even a 3yo race like they have up north. I suppose they were thinking the crowd would hang around and bet on Awapuni. 1 Quote
curious Posted December 10, 2022 Posted December 10, 2022 Maybe the crowd went because it wasn't a dragged out borefest? 2 Quote
Freda Posted December 10, 2022 Posted December 10, 2022 Good points both. A three year old race - while no one chucks the sophomores a bone down here until the 3 southern Guineas events - would have been nice, again, you need continuity. Not just a race thrown in willy-nilly. 1 Quote
