Joe Bloggs
I only met Jillo in Sydney when he had Tycoon Lil staying with us out at Rosehill, a character, a very nice fella, and he told me some stories re BF Deac, Takanini secrets he called them, he lived a full life I would imagine, always seemed happy, if he wasn't he hid it well. There will be standing room only at that mans send off. Another good one gone.
Freda
Fraid so, it comes to us all unfortunately, J.B. I guess all we can do is our best on the way through, and try and make a difference no matter in how small a way.

I met Colin when I was a stable girl for Gary Lee, he had brought an Oncidium 3 year old ( Gipsyon ) down for the Derby, and he stayed at Chokebore Lodge. He was lovely, I didn't have much to do with him understandably, but several years later he was down at Riccarton and spotted me at the races. Hullo, love, he said, nice to see you are still with the horses. What a nice man, I thought, fancy remembering a lowly shit -kicker. A few more years on, and I had a trainer's licence, and again he noticed me at the races. I see you're training, he said, well done and good luck. Just such a decent bloke. 3
Kihikihi Kid
Make no mistake Jillo was a hard man, no snowflake would have cut the mustard in his day. Hard but fair and a gentleman. Something this Industry is lacking. Losing people like Jillo and Noel Eales proves how irreplaceable they are. Hard to imagine in their heyday they would NZTR get away with the shit they are nowadays RIP Jillo, an honour to have known you
