Guest CrossCodes
A deadheat for second, so they halve those tote dividends and pay out a fourth place tote divvie? Sucks if you backed the second place getter, you get half the price and the 4th horse gets paid out despite not running in 3 (tote) Seems wrong to me..... Doomed
It looks to me like the Japanese pay out four places if there are more than 15 starters. There is no logical reason to halve the place divs for the dead-heaters in that circumstance so I suspect they were just the two hot favourites
Special Agent
Looks like madness. Even if Japan pay 4 divvies the New Zealand TAB has it's own system. You can bet on a Top 4 finish on fixed odds but, this race result you have shown definitely looks like tote odds. The 4th runner paid a huge divvy for the placing. Phone the TAB Help Desk. That is what it is for, questions. Keep us updated.
Bid
Definitely wrong, should be full dividend for 2nd and 3rd and no 4th.
Guest CrossCodes
Looking at the results for the entire meeting has me even more dumbstruck. They have paid out 4 tote dividends for half the races, and 3 for the other half, even without dead heats? I can only assume it is a glitch in the system. Guest CrossCodes
This still doesn't explain why the dividends of the 4 tote placegetters were all sliced. It was a 16 horse field so no deductions should apply regardless of the dead heat. Am I missing something here?
