Sucks if you backed the second place getter, you get half the price and the 4th horse gets paid out despite not running in 3 (tote) Seems wrong to me..... Quote
Doomed Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 It looks to me like the Japanese pay out four places if there are more than 15 starters. There is no logical reason to halve the place divs for the dead-heaters in that circumstance so I suspect they were just the two hot favourites Quote

You can bet on a Top 4 finish on fixed odds but, this race result you have shown definitely looks like tote odds. The 4th runner paid a huge divvy for the placing. Phone the TAB Help Desk. They have paid out 4 tote dividends for half the races, and 3 for the other half, even without dead heats? I can only assume it is a glitch in the system. Quote

Guest CrossCodes Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 (edited) This still doesn't explain why the dividends of the 4 tote placegetters were all sliced.
