    • Funny how you can criticise…. but when I say she comes across as ordinary it’s an issue? TAB sent me email awhile back to rate presenters…. Hope they listen to me. I suppose I am being a little harsh, Aussie crew are superb on major meetings,
    • I have a little horse who, despite several attempts on various ratings, cannot perform on rain-affected ground. Much as I don't like scratching and costing owners money, there is just no point in lining up. Recently he found himself in the first race, track rated S6. Ok, I thought, after chatting to the owner,  we decided to let him have a chance, he'd been fit and ready fot a good while and going nowhere. Reasoned that race 1 with first crack at the track, not chopped up, he should manage. Came back to scale with mud up to his knees and track immediately downgraded to a H 8.  If the RIB had been doing their job as per Chief's description, I wouldn't have put the poor little bugger on the float.
    • Four horses shared the fastest furlong time of :10 flat during Monday's under-tack preview of the Texas Thoroughbred Association's Texas 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale, which will be held Wednesday at Lone Star Park. A Louisiana-bred filly by Lone Sailor (hip 1), the first horse to work over the track Monday morning, set that bullet mark for the Pike Racing at Highlander consignment. Out of Isn't She Gorgeous (Yes It's True), the filly is a half-sister to stakes winners Yes Gorgeous (Mass Media) and Southern Beauty (Calibrachoa). Pike Racing at Highlander was also represented by another bullet worker in hip 32, a Kentucky-foaled daughter of More Than Ready. She is the second foal out of Seayouathebreakers (Hard Spun), a daughter of graded-placed Calistoga (Speightstown). The consignment of Bryan Ford Training Center was responsible for the other two bullet workers: hip 12, a son of Goldencents out of Moka Latte (Uncle Mo); and hip 15, a colt by Omaha Beach out of multiple stakes-placed Natalie's Mischief (Into Mischief). “Our consignors brought a strong group of 2-year-olds to the sale and I think that was proven on the track today,” said TTA sales director Foster Bridewell. “The buyers that I've talked to have been impressed by what they've seen, both on the track and in the barns, so we are looking forward to a good auction on Wednesday.” A catalogue of 100 head is set to go through the newly renamed Mary Ruyle Thoroughbred Sales Pavilion Wednesday starting at 10 a.m. CT. The pavilion on the grounds of Lone Star Park honors the recently retired executive director of the Texas Thoroughbred Association who was instrumental in launching the TTA Sales division a decade ago.
