    • Anyone who has any doubts about what i say about timeslots and pre race coverage being the main factor in turnover, just has to look at saturdays ellerslie meeting for proof. Its such an obvious thing. On saturday, in australia ,they had really good sky channel one, pre race lead in coverage for races 5-10. So how did that impact turnover. Well races 1-4 the win pools on the commingled nz tab, were between 25,000-41,000 and race 10 was $56,000. So what difference did the pre race sky coverage make, well the win pools on races 5-9 were between $660,000 and near 1.1 million. Now if the group ones were the reason for the jump by between $600,000 to million more per race, then why was race 4's group one turnoover only $41,000. its obvious the answer is, because that group 1 didn't get the same sky coverage in australia. as i always say about tabcorp ,their win pools reflected the nz tab turnovers. Tabcorps win pools for races 1-4 were between $6,000-12,000 and race 10 was $25,000. Races 5-9 were between $610,000 and 1 million..
    • You really do have a complex about Te Akau.  Have you actually spent time talking to David Ellis? Why wouldn't he want to lead in the horse he purchased, syndicated which won the slot he purchased?
    • I for one am very happy for them if they got 10k crowd, either way it doesn't matter it was a very good days racing, with some great finishes and well done to all involved. My only caveat is the NZB Kiwi is the height of cringe in racing, from golden eggs, a poor field , big Daves dive for the limelight to chiefs favourite dancing troupe and thoroughly undeserving of all the hype and $$$'s involved not to mention it makes the Karaka Millions look inviting.
    • You're the one that pulled the racist card.  From what I've seen Maori are the ones stocking the fire under the pot because it suits them. The younger brigade are getting as pissed off as the rest of us at the sense of entitlement a vocal group of Maori have.  Especially those trying to advance in careers and don't meet the quota.   Hell I was at a Body Corp meeting and two units are owned by Maori - I was accused of being a white supremacist because I pointed out that what they were proposing wasn't allowed by the legislation.  So the racist card gets pulled when it suits and quite frankly it is wearing thin.   The question that many are asking is what was the point of it?  Oh yeah lets pay Ngati Whatua some Koha and roll out yet another haka and met some imaginary cultural obligation.  So from a Maori perspective @Tim Carter what did the Ngati Whatua haka achieve?
    • Most of NZ are not racists not like some that hide behind the keyboard and stir the simmering pot of racism. The younger brigade of NZ embrace Te reo Maori . Take your head out the sand.  Wasn't the Haka a one off for that race? But it still pissed off some. Unbelievable!
