    • The first mare scanned in foal to McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds undefeated new sire Showcase (by Uncle Mo) was reported, the farm said via a Friday press release. New Year's Wish, a stakes-placed daughter of New Year's Day trained by Linda Rice, was purchased by McMahon. The chestnut was the last horse selected by Rice's father Clyde before he passed away. Named a 'TDN Rising Star, presented by Hagyard,' after his 7 1/2 length debut win, Showcase took home the 2024 GII Saratoga Special Stakes. Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher said, “Showcase possessed enormous natural ability paired with an explosive turn of foot. He was our 2-year-old that year, a colt who displayed professionalism, athleticism, and the kind of natural speed that consistently stands out at the highest levels.” McMahon added, “Showcase has taken very well to his new job, having covered 20 mares to date, and is being strongly supported by the syndicate. We could not be more thrilled to stand this outstanding son of Uncle Mo out of a full-sister to Volatile, another Grade I sire with a recent Triple Crown prep winner.” The post First Mare Scanned In Foal To New McMahon Sire Showcase appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions. • Ballyhane Stud has announced the two winners of its inaugural breeders' raffle, an initiative designed to reward the breeders supporting the Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes.  Tina Dargan has been named the winning recipient of a free nomination to Breeders' Cup winner Magnum Force while Sandra Fox is the winning recipient of a free nomination to the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes winner Sakheer. These nominations are available for immediate use during the current breeding season. Joe Foley, owner Ballyhane Stud said, “The Ballyhane Breeders' Raffle is our way of recognising and rewarding the breeders who are the true backbone of this industry and linking them with the entries of the farms flagship race, the Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes. My congratulations go to the winning breeders, Tina and Sandra, and it is a pleasure to offer them nominations to our stallions Magnum Force and Sakheer. We look forward to seeing the success of these matings on the racecourse in the years to come.”  The draw was conducted by Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) and included all entries received for this year's €200,000 Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes. As the richest race staged at Naas racecourse, the contest remains a marquee event on the summer calendar and will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 3rd. Last year's renewal was won by the Ger Lyons-trained and Sean Jones-owned Howd'yadoit, further highlighting the race's strong appeal to leading owners, trainers and breeders.   The post Ballyhane Stud Announce Breeders’ Raffle Winners  appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
