  1. So @Honestjohn and @the galah where did you hear that the accused pleaded guilty? My sources say the person in question hasn't.
  2. Ok I'll be honest! I was trying to catch @Huey out. I watched the Kumara races this week and enjoyed it thoroughly. The interviewer wasn't great but the interviewees were fantastic. A went to school with a couple of them. Anyway Robbie Patterson was asked about Premierships and if I remember correctly he said, to paraphrase, he had no chance because he only trained and raced 6 months of the season. He doesn't do Winter - very few horses do like wet tracks.
  3. So ban Greyhound Racing? How many of those injuries were serious Chazza? Are you making the Stipes gun shy?
  4. @Archie Butterfly or the trainer is out on bail?
  5. No it's a scum channel for lots of reasons. No doubt your are buying into his "how to cheat with PEDS" series. And "as always" you think he is a fantastic investigative journalist.
  6. @TAB For Ever - I might add to that Channels 2 and 3 have tried their damdest to bring BOAY down - one channel purely out of spite and using some really underhand methods and the second because I refused to ban people they didn't like. The irony is I got rid of the main person they didn't like not through banning them but through debating them. BOAY is an open forum for every viewpoint.
  7. You been reading the headlines at the scum channel aka @Archie Butterfly ?
  8. The alternative that you will see on other channels is you are banned for being combative. Everyone is free to participate on BOAY regardless of what they say or what they think of me. I don't get concerned about it. As for the clicks - those and the people who kindly subscribe covers the cost of providing this forum. I'd love to be paid for the hours I put in keeping it going. Actually I'd love to have been fully paid for resurrecting the other channel and administering and developing it over many years! I doubt anyone could wear Mr O'Brien down anymore than he does it to himself. He may have had runs on the board but a fair few of them were well short of the crease or leg byes! Challenged by whom? You displayed all the credentials of a Cost Accountant. In wagering yield is the most important metric just as managing yieldis in selling seats on planes or rental cars. All I said regarding the big crowd picnic meetings is it makes racing accessible to a new generation of potential punters and owners. Even a few youngsters choosing a career in the industry. Is it any different from the Boys Get Paid pitching up once a year at Ellerslie? Well it is a bit different as their participation is heavily subsidised in comparison to those attending the picnic meetings. Horse ownership has always been expensive. The point I was making is that if you have a horse good enough to be competitive in a Group race and have the form then $7,000 isn't a great deal to pay. Considering in terms of nomination they would have had a relatively free ride to get to that point. Did you lose your train of thought in that paragraph? It is a sport and everything is open to discussion be it positive or negative. If you read closely you will see I more often than not counter negativity strongly particularly the tall poppy slayers.
  9. I'm waiting for you to give us at least one reason instead of inference or innuendo. There is one very good reason why he has no chance. Do you have one reason?
  10. Only 18 horses in work though. Well it's "pretty bloody obvious" why Robbie Patterson won't win the Premiership and make the top 3.
  11. What are the obvious reasons? I note Lance Noble is doing as well Stake's wise with a third of the horses.
  12. https://fb.watch/pq5YxqviNs/?mibextid=NnVzG8
  13. That's exactly what @curious said. You are agreeing with him!
  14. You haven't made any points - why won't they be doing that nowadays?
  15. They had more than one race meeting in my day. However as I said earlier a meeting such as at Kumara can sow the seed of interest in a new generation.
  16. Exactly. That's where my interest started. Attending the local meetings at Westland and Kumara.
  17. ...and that correlates how?
  18. Why? They all had their own individual relationship with Lee and they're all making their own decision are they not?
  19. When were there ever regular trials, jump outs or trackwork on any of the West Coast tracks? I don't recall going to any.
  20. You're closer to the horses than any track in NZ.
  21. I wish they'd bring back the tote bells, the semaphore board and the balloon.
  22. The Clubs have been doing that all over the CD and it will happen at the Wellington Cup meeting. A sign of appreciation for a job well done over a number of decades. A novel concept in today's world.
  23. With that sort of attitude you could get a well paid job at NZTR. Well as a lad growing up on the West Coast that meeting and the one at Westland got me interested in the game. I must say a lot of my mates as well.
  24. It was $20 if you pitched up at the gate. $15 if you pre-booked online. Yep wouldn't be many small Clubs that would thumb their noses at $30k.
  25. So you're just Anti-racing fullstop? Given you appear to not consider Kumara yesterday to have been a success.
