  1. Gang related it seems.
  2. I agree. Jockeys and Tracks that's where we should invest ASAP. Afterall anyone can train a good horse. Imagine what the $4m wasted on the NZTR computer system could have done to getting youth into the system.
  3. I assure you I do. From what I've seen most Trainers act as individuals and very rarely get together to organise themselves and what they want and work out how to get it. The Trainers Association was/is a farce. I don't understand it either. From what I've seen the industry is plagued with envy and is its own worst enemy the way you all pull each other down off the track. Then get the system changed! There should be multiple pathways for those wishing to get involved in the industry. Far better for young people to get a qualification from working where their passion is rather than getting no recognition at all. Don't think for a moment that the Racing Industry is special when it comes to red tape - every employer faces compliance costs in NZ - granted some a bit more than others but Racing isn't the worst by any stretch.
  4. No harm in asking or finding solutions rather than barriers.
  5. I don't know "exactly" but I've got a very very good grasp of what trainers are putting up with. I've listened and observed over many years. Then get them on board rather than just relieved them of their own hard earned dosh. You reap what you sow or even many cases you reap nothing because you sow nothing. Why would they when most are trying to cut the tall poppies down. I see the hypocrisy on BOAY regularly.
  6. I didn't say do it on your own but if you don't do something you can only accept what you get. A bit like the local tracks you put up with.
  7. So what? You and @Freda can eat mung beans and drink coconut milk if you wish but to attest that a cow is mentally traumatised every year to whatever extent is cookie bear land. How do you explain that the most fertile time for a mare or a cow is immediately after giving birth? If you don't like it don't drink milk, eat yoghurt, icecream or cheese! I suppose you both find it OK to "break-in" young horses and take them away from the herd? Of course you'd be happy if those young fillies were left in the herd to get in foal at two or those young colts to be banished from the herd. @the galah and @Freda why both having any interest in horse racing at all? Oh and back to cows have you seem what the mother does to the calf when she decides to ween it so she can focus on feeding the next one inside her?
  8. So you don't have pets at all @the galah?
  9. Yes and who will benefit most? Why don't you and some other trainers work together to do something similar?
  10. Then you can't expect to have good riders in numbers coming through. It's always been hard.
  11. Just answer the question.
  12. So you are Anti-Greyhound Racing and their trainers?
  13. It's not a condition of posting but if you are anti-Greyhound Racing then declare it instead of pretending to be something else.
  14. So you're not "pro-racing"? ...and you think all trainers are Cee U Next Tuesday's?
  15. Perhaps they decided to throw you a bone.
  16. So obviously with a user name such as Seeyounexttuesday you don't really have much time for Greyhound racing either? @Seeyounexttuesdaytrainers !!!!
  17. Who cares? Just go hard after a 78 year old ill woman. 🤒
  18. But we've been on that slippery slope for years. What has any administrator and/or stakeholder (trainer) done about it individually or as a group?
  19. Don't they have a local programme committee anymore? Or is everyone more worried about whip violations?
  20. So if you hurt a horse it goes faster or further or both?
  21. Then why comment and trawl the internet? Woops I forgot you have an agenda.
  22. Emotional damage to a dairy cow? You're kidding us? It doesn't seem to worry the calves after a few days - all they care about is getting fed and playing with their mates in a paddock. As for the mother cow - I assure you they quickly get over it and get back into their familar routine of eating grass and queuing up at the right time to be milked. Next you will be telling us that they are missing out on sexual satisfaction by being artificially inseminated (like nearly all Standarbreds).
  23. They receive approximately 77 pence per person in the UK. So hardly - For that 77 pence they get excellent value for money. If I recall correctly most of that funding is a rebate on the tax from the profits of the Crown Estate revenue. She didn't lie about anything. The photo's weren't fake just touched up in a few minor places. All said and done the private life and health issues of William, Kate and their three children are none of our business.
  24. Really? I'm not so sure about that given some of the comments you post which have a clear bias. From the Stewards Report for Rosehill 23-03-24 - read and weep. GENERAL: Summary of whip use The Stewards noted the following riders exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m under AR132(7)(a)(ii). Bearing in mind the totality of whip use, no action was taken. Race 2 T. Berry (Manzoice) App. Z. Lloyd (Floating) 7 strikes 6 strikes Race 3 J. McDonald (Thalassophile) T. Clark (Osmose) 8 strikes 6 strikes Race 4 T. Clark (The Novelist) 6 strikes Race 6 T. Clark (Ganbare) 6 strikes Race 7 T. Berry (Golden Mile) J. McDonald (Militarize) 7 strikes 6 strikes Race 9 T. Clark (Asfoora) 6 strikes
