  1. Mark Walker equals Trainers wins for the season record. 160 so far. He is going to smash it.
  2. But there hasn't been "an outcry of innocence" in this case.
  3. I still can't work out where they are going to find another $100 million in revenue within 2 years. Even if they sacked every employee they still wouldn't get close. That extra revenue if it does materialise won't all go to the racing codes. Note YTD January 2023 and the TAB is down 10% on net profit. Yet Entain within two years can generate over 60% more profit?
  4. Seems to be making a difference.
  5. Nope but it gives every chance to be successful eliminating or mitigating many variables. With a system in place it then comes down to individual trainer ability and the talent of your horses. Walker brings some international experience from a controlled relatively closed system to the stable now. https://bitofayarn.com/topic/91233-walker-edging-closer-to-record/#comment-213710
  6. Yes there are other ways but sitting down reviewing all the CCTV recordings everyday wouldn't be one of them. One option would be to have two staff administering medication at all times. Each checking each other. But even then as we see in pilot error plane crashes that doesn't always work either. Same in hospitals where there are numerous cases on a regular basis of the wrong medication being administered. I'm surprised given the number of horses in full work (127 across five barns) that there hasn't been more cases than one. Is that correct this is the only case for TA? All the big OZ stables have had one or more.
  7. That's not the case. The penalties/fines and the precedents are clearly stated. I'm sure if there is any inconsistency in their application in the current case it will be pointed out by all online participants. I'm betting it won't be inconsistent.
  8. Do you also think the same as another trainer that says Te Akau should have reviewed their CCTV BEFORE the horses race?
  9. I was referring to public scrutiny not RIB scrutiny. There have been other positives recently and nowhere near the comment online.
  10. Probably better. Remember some naysayers said Walker wouldn't achieve as highly.
  11. Then why not subject the small stables to the same level of scrutiny? As pointed out earlier the industry averages a positive about every 2 to 3 months. Te Akau have had about two since they have been operating. Which is a long time.
  12. I find it appalling how some on other forums are quick to put the knife into a stable that is probably one of the few positives that we have in NZ. Te Akau has 5 barns at different locations with 127 horses in work. Staff make mistakes. Yet some think that the recent mistake should have been picked up BEFORE the horse started. Hell what other stable in NZ has or needs to have CCTV that enables the quick finding of a mistake after it has been done? Then fully assists the RIB with their inquiry! Also keeps everyone in the industry fully informed with professional press releases!
  13. Just twigged to what is happening. The are promising $160m in the first year up to a maximum of $250m over the next 5 years. So I guess they are picking up the TAB for a dollar and then "buying" it by using revenue from other sources to payout up to $250m per year for the first 5 years. What happens after that?
  14. No Poppies this time just an error by staff. The record of wins including Grp and listed is better than Richards and miles ahead of the opposition.
  15. Probably get a substantial fine. Mistakes do happen.
  16. Mark Walker has hit his NZ straps hard and fast!
  17. It says it "was not prescribed" which would suggest it wasn't administered after his previous win on 25 Feb I.e. 14 days previously. In any case the withholding period I think for meloxicam is four days. The detection time is three days so it would have to have been administered within 72 hours of the sample time to be detected.
  18. Does it matter? The fact is it wasn't prescribed prior to the Sistema Stakes. It is legal to use but has a withholding period. As the statement said it is commonly used as a post race treatment as an anti-inflammatory.
  19. What don't you buy? There has been a few in OZ. Neasham for one. What is strange with the TA positive is that the drug in question was never prescribed for the horse. A quick look through the RIB database and NZ is averaging a horse drug positive every 2 to 3 months. Mainly for anti-inflammatories.
  20. He can't even come up with his own insults. Remember Molly used to say the same things.
  21. Looks like the Comic Dog has some information that the rest of us don't know about. Suggesting the positive returned a high level of the drug. Has the RIB released that information? So if it isnt low level then it is either nobbling or a staff mistake. Has the RIB leaked information again?
  22. Are you inferring a malcontent staff member nobbled both?
