  1. Don't the gallop on the beach down there anymore?
  2. Eh? All three? So the jockey was slosh slosh. The horse was thud thud and the whip clip clop?
  3. Yes unfortunately and at a huge cost. Another folly by Winnie. They'll suck resources from the industry for years to come. It will cost them millions at Awapuni in developing the means to control the water table! I guess you could have a floating AWT!
  4. Was it a slosh slosh, a thud thud or a sharp clip clop?
  5. That isn't Foxton's fault. Ask Curious they are all ready and waiting with some nice new facilities. The track is as good as ever if not better from the lack of racing.
  6. Meanwhile Ruakaka which used to have several race meetings at this time of the year lies idle. A racetrack I might add that had a regular turnout in locals oncourse. Whom are now pretty pissed off! Which reminds me of the article I read recently about Tony Pike having a big team ready to go to Australia. Is that a sign of things to come Pikie? Get them up and ready on the All Weather Track and then over to Australia. Will the big bird be flying directly to Hamilton?
  7. What about Foxton? Better than all of the ones you mentioned. You know what the difference is of course - those tracks don't have the new fandangled High Definition Broadcasting Network connection. Stuff what's good for punters, trainers, owners! Actually that only leaves those sitting in the studio doesn't it?
  8. Na we need to hear from Mr Spin himself - Mackenzie and the RITA Board. No doubt JJ Flash will gives us an update from the horses mouth.
  9. I hear the RIU are bugging Blair and Grim has been wrapped in his sleeping bag under the gorse hedge. They've heard the money is on.
  10. Don't you want the beads and blankets they are handing out?
  11. The people that I've met that are supposedly WOKE are asleep.
  12. I think mofo is slang for motherfucker. Once again Whiplash displays his impeccable pedigree.
  13. There may not be any crowds at the Carnival but it is easy to isolate the venues as has been proven to date and it is a low contact sport.
  14. Yes the level of hospitalisations is well down. It annoys me the focus on the number of people infected. It is apparent in the science that lockdowns in the situation that Victoria is experiencing now can have an adverse affect on outcomes. For example mass testing only serves to bring infected people together with uninfected people and locking people down in apartment buildings only serves to spread it within those buildings. Control is quite simple - wear a mask, wash your hands frequently and socially distance. Plus protect those that are vulnerable - it is also very clear that those who experience extreme adverse medical events are those with comorbidities and in an older age bracket e.g. over 75. At the moment it is being reported that there are only 42 people in a critical or serious condition across the whole of Australia.
  15. Maybe the TAB will offer the bet: Number of All Stars that finish in front of Dunn Team or in other words Closest to winner?
  16. What's the bet the TAB comes up with a dumb head to head like - All Stars vs Dunn Team!!!

  21. Yep they give their tracks a decent rest during the typhoon season. We race on ours or close down decent winter tracks for good.
  22. NOTE: the HKJC also paid taxes AND duty.
  23. Back to Stakes....well Hong Kong for a start. Hong Kong last year had a Turnover of NZD$49.5 billion. Revenue was NZD$7.4 billion They paid NZD$4.6 billion in duty. The HKJC provides 12% of the Hong Kong Governments revenue. The net surplus after taxation was NZD$415 million. Stakes (got there eventually) - wait for it......pause....... NZD$260 million.
  24. All true. Unfortunately one of the key players in the ebb and flow is an idiot.
  25. Again this has been going on for decades. What have Tonga's "friends" done except idly sit by and watch? So what's your point? Are they scared of China or the uncertainty caused by the protests supposedly in the name of democracy? Quite frankly the opinions of a retiring QF Captain and a few jock's aren't exactly overwhelming evidence that Hong Kong racing is going to collapse.
