  1. Surely the Deloitte report is being circulated to the members of the three clubs and we can get our hands on a copy. Or will it be distilled into a bullshit PowerPoint presentation for each of the 3 Special General Meetings to decide on?
  2. Agreed it wasn't a fair standing start. Geez I remember we had two good horses and they would stand perfectly still but as soon as the tapes flew they would take two or three bounds to get momentum up and then be flying pacing. It took a bit of getting used to as you thought they had galloped away but they were intelligent horses. One had a 62 inch hopple which you could even let out to 64 on a fast track. Then hopple shorteners became the rage.
  3. I hear what you are saying but Copy That wasn't that far away from the tape when the tape was released. The difference is that he was actually standing still while the outside horses were having a run at it. Then he started away very slowly.
  4. Actually had another couple of looks and that first part of the stipes report concerning Tango Tara seems right. It and Ashley Locaz do impede each other and someone yells out. Purdon seems to make an early decision to walk away. Lamb actually says something in the audio at that point about ".....the outside....".
  5. I must have watched a different race. I'll have to go back and have another look. I thought Self Assured went for the barriers and Mark Purdon was the first to turn away.
  6. They're still writing it.
  7. OK. I haven't seen the full proposal. If that is the case then they are relying on Avondale's assets to fund the Strathayr and to provide the seed funding for the $50m in yearly stakes payout.
  8. They altered their Constitution to align with the move by NZTR to align with the disposal of assets as per the Racing Act 2003. They will require 3/5's of members to agree. BC10063556511.pdf
  9. However if they go then what training facility to have you have left close to Auckland? Only Byerly Park. Then you are in the Waikato or Ruakaka. Auckland has lent Pukekohe $2m for refurbishing the track which must be paid back if the Counties ceases to be a training facility.
  10. My bad.....I assumed that they didn't because of the motor racing track.
  11. Full Sectionals for each horse available here: http://www.addington.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2020-11-10_32_HRNZ_Race-11_Stridemaster-details-simple.pdf http://www.addington.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2020-11-10_32_HRNZ_Race-11_Stridemaster-details-individual.pdf
  12. In my day all horses had to be standing STILL before a start not SPRINTING!
  13. Lightening Blue ran 10 seconds slower! What's that nearly 200m? Bonnie's Chance 14 seconds slower!
  14. Yep a tick over 3:55. Good effort from Spankem. Just looked it up 3:55.2 Mile Rate: 1-58.2 Last 800m: 55.6 Last 400m: 27.6
  15. Three out of four of the Group 1's.
  16. Well the commentator said different even so they were running at the tape the first time round. In my day you had to be standing still! I'm not having a dig at the All Stars - the professionals they are they know how to manage things to their own advantage.
  17. LOL. Oh dear did the Starter hand that one to the All Stars. The first run up the All Stars didn't get it right and turn away. So the Starter calls them up again and the outside All Stars on the outside of the front line are fair running at the tape when he lets them go!! All over then and the ALL Stars controlled it going 3:55!
  18. Ellerslie can easily fund their own Strathayr without acquiring further assets. But the only way the $50m a year in stakes can be delivered is by acquiring Avondale's assets (Counties don't have any!).

  22. They're not yet. Has to be approved by members from all three clubs. However if they don't approve then NZTR can then invoke the land grab sections of the new Act. Sign of things to come.
