  2. That's precisely why I say we would be foolish to close any tracks when with a bit of cooperation we could manage the surfaces like a good farmer does on a rotation basis. Long term dam sight cheaper than paying for multiple Strathayr tracks. The reality is we are never going to see a massive resurgence in on course attendance let alone turnover. So why the hell waste money on building infrastructure. The biggest day out I had at a race meeting was in a tent (poncy marquee) Wellington cup day in the in field. Toilet was one of those portable cabin things and the seats were $5 wharehouse specials.
  3. Yep - no farmer doesn't renovate their paddocks for 20 years. They'd be out of business. Plus Curious there are probably no sand slits or complex drainage systems underneath that paddock.

  19. Where do they have the jumpouts in Hong Kong? One or two locations in a closed system. Are you suggesting that every jumpout in NZ is videoed? Waste of time and money. A better idea would be to reduce the number of races and make a policy that says trial form counts for gaining a start.
