As I've said before this will go on for ages and will become a circus. Going in previous examples of these types of charges the evidence will have to be compelling to get a result. Is it not the NZ Polices first go at this in NZ?

Which would have been available to the RIU and the defendants as well surely? If it was I don't understand how the information reached the threshold for a case to be tested but not for the RIU to get their exclusion to stick with JCA. I guess at this stage the threshold is lower to charge than it is for the JCA to convict.

I wouldn't think that was correct. One you can't charge anyone unless you have evidence. You can arrest someone on the suspicion of an offence but you need to have evidence to charge them. So some evidence needs to be presented in court for a charge to be accepted by a Judge. Geez imagine what sort of Court System we would have if you can charge ANYONE without providing ANY evidence. Constable Plod says to the Judge - "it's OK your honour 'trust us' we know we will find some evidence soon. Trust us as we haven't failed in the past!"

To get it fit? Geez Thoroughbred trainers use racing all the time to get their horses fit in NZ. Doesn't happen so much at the OZ metrop meetings because the big money's always up.

I know it is hard to compare champions from different eras but she is at least equal with the top if not the best of all time. We subsconciously tend to downgrade her wins because of the ease she wins by. But look back at some of those she has beaten but not just beaten has put away. Multiple group winners who have gone on and won millions in stakes in their own right. The only thing she lacks is the physical presence of some of champions gone by. She must have one helluva motor inside.

Savvy Coup didn't look to settle that well and I think Flemington will suit her her. I find it hard to believe that NZ's best is that much behind AUS's. In saying that AUS's best is at least 3 lengths shy of the champion WINX. She is unbelievable. I watched her win and was so engrossed watching her that I missed the first quarter of the All Black test! She looked in great heart after the race and looked like it had just been a training canter.

The thing about this blinker parameter is I can't see which horse you should pick based on it. First time on or off? Thomass says both. Which horse on each race as there is often more than one?

So what the JCA is saying is the RIU's evidence wasn't sufficient to exclude the Drivers from driving.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't an RIU investigation start the ball rolling? The Police came along later. Therefore wouldn't one expect the RIU to have sufficient information or evidence to prove to the JCA that a continued exclusion was warranted? Afterall isn't the burden of proof lower in the JCA than in the High Court?

I can cut Rosso some slack as well. He interviewed me after the horse our syndicate owned won the Taranaki Cup. Very knowledgeable. Smart guy. Plus he said some nice things on TV on the Sunday show at the time. I'd hate to call Greyhound races - the only thing Early is good at!
