  1. A. not enough to justify the expenses of racing a horse as an owner...(meeting related costs)... B. Seriously though, on Baz,s advice... take a deep breathe...be patient and navigate your way around the site ! C. If at 1st you don,t succeed...Breathe in. breathe out and try again. D. The new www.tab.co.nz homepage seems/is more of an invitation to have a crack at your 1st sports bet. (e.g Gudagai Goanna,s V Ayres Rock Dingo,s) SO...top left hand corner you will see TAB then on its right, Racing,...click on racing next page appears...under Racing...left to right...(Todays Racing, results, futures, challenges pdf form) HA,HA..wait for it ! you are just about there... click pdf form go to meeting you want ... a myriad of choices ( i personally click easy form and A4 colour tabs up to make my selections ! )... A4 COLOUR HAS THE EXACT BREAKDOWN OF PRIZE MONEY ! WARNING ; dont try to extract this info from the site in any other fashion...IT COULD ENDANGER YOUR HEALTH ! I DONT MIND THE KNEW SITE AFTER A HELL OF ALOT OF SELF EDUCATION ... A HOW TO OPERATE NEW SITE ATTACHMENT, OR E-MAIL...WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS PAINFULL !
  2. Yep agree with the last 4 posts...(just my 10 cents worth)... GATE CHARGS @ different times of the year / combined with BYO rules) and owner/ members/sponsor privileges.. .will determine the mix of racegoers and crowds on-course.
  3. Freda and I agree Weasle... A good measure of a tracks viability. I stand up, with hand on heart and admit I voted Winston in.... I can see him retiring (through enforced inactivity... by the PM and Greens) before the next election... C,MON WINSTON...DEMAND ACTION FOR YOUR RACING VOTERS . If the supposed Guru from Aussie had been so good...He would have made big salaried staff cuts by now ... e.g 10k plus a week wages ...flights around the globe / sausage rolls, & savories & drinks Fark me...doesn,t take a scientist to work out if you Sack 2 non performing staff on those sort of wages... YOU CAN RAISE MAIDEN RACES BY 1K EA. FOR 3 MEETINGS A WEEK. MAY ATTRACT SOME OWNERS BACK WHO ARE SICK OF MEETING THE WEEKLY TRAINING AND VET BILLS.
  4. I dont reckon just closing down country tracks is the answer...may be the end you city slickers need to get bums on seats and off course betting to justify the group races to convince me ... Look what I found ...How they tracking ? www.youtube.com/watch?v=748UmtCPkh4&feature=share

I said to start off with I don,t have the patience to run with the staking plan above !... it is based on backing a $4 winner one time in ten (or 2x$2places) or (3x$1.70 places)...dbl bank / Dbl bets Which I,m more than capable of....but don,t choose to. ( I cop out on your point c, Mardigras) I reckon there is better value / fun, in exotics / all ups

agree , but you need some sort of "plan" and "Bank"... VC is holding out well with his odds shopping and % of winners. I havn,t got the time, BUT ...1,1,1,2,2,3,4,5,7,9 bets...return to 1 after ea. losing bet (double bank, double bets) how would he have gone with all his bets above ?

Just my observation VC... slowly but surely , you are giving your 10k bank to the "Pricks" LOL and I can,t see with this system "it getting any better" with any game changing collects ! Reckon you may be up the front of the GA class admitting your sins... Mate, I cant talk...Hence, only punt for fun these days (mostly % exotics for a small %) Have you tried a staking plan...returning to bet 1, after a win...( I hav,nt got the Patience ...but you might have)
  8. Cheers Hesi, I didn,t even realise you were posting these on here . I,m able to view when time permits... Yep , I voted Winston, and are glad he has got the ball rolling ...BUT... Stakes must increase, paid to last. Poor owners, @ the coal face paying the weekly bills to support the rest of the industry... tired early rising trainers. to the benefit of Float Companies, Farriers, Vets and Breeders. The costs of running a slow horse to prop up the industry have gone... To be quite honest I,m surprised at the average sized field Waay down on previous years...but still repairable... Improve on-course repeat patronage...(NOT BY CHARGING ADMISSION / ARRANGE AN EVENT / BETWEEN RACE ENTERTAINMENT AND MARKET IT PROPERLY ! I,m not a big advocate of losing the small, annual festival Racetracks... BUT to soften the blow ...those Clubs / Members / Public could be offered free buses to their closer, larger Group 1 type Carnivals with free drink/s and tickets provided. Punters comps would ensure on-course betting figures remain high. Trackside do a good job I reckon ! ...bugger the aussies ! and I would hate to have to rue the day we handed over control.
  9. Yeah the show certainly brought back memories, good Doco ...I have jimmy,s book (and a Laminated local newspaper photo, after he won the cup, with my mum, on my bookshelf.) Agree Weasle on your Dianne Mosely comment ...the follow up on TV1 news last night (intended or not ! )...of Sam Collett being NZ,s top jock, has shown just how far NZ Woman, including Jocks, have come in this country. That is worth another Doco on its own .
  10. Mates that would chuck in 50 bucks ea. to be in a syndicate days...HAVE GONE The miracle Peters / Messara recovery package.? (the new owner , and racegoer needs to be encouraged through marketing and well advertised race meetings (in advance)...(subsidised free gates / rebates / incentives) the flow on effect, will echo through all facets of the industry UPWARDS to breeders. k300 a year is still K6 a week and a livable salary. (if you don,t like it...someone else will ! ) The extra k$350 odd = k7 a week to boost the feature race... That would start the ball rolling at the kick-off (IMHO)
  11. I voted Winston and have said that on the other channel...(expecting a barrage of abuse) ...But after watching the video below and reading Horseboys and IWMCN,s posts above....I Agree, wait until Masara has cut some paper pushers and over-paid under-performers and has racing clubs utilising their facilities earning potentials with other functions and activities, (curious post). Hopefully we can see a return to the glory days of racing. (it,s a cop out and easy way to fob off responsibility, to say, " there is so much other entertainment competing for the entertainment dollar out there these days", and racing can be enjoyed from your armchair these days !... I say ...Get off ya arse and do it, or move aside and on a let someone else !
  12. No...hoping for better really,...just for Popsy there would be no onus on him to part with anything...(would there?) I,d be last in the queue...mmm , maybe not ! LOL
  13. 4 May, 2013 10:44am 3 minutes to read Hawkes Bay Today By: Patrick O'Sullivan Kelt was a half-owner of Keltern Stud with his sister Susan Foote but the business was placed into liquidation in March . Mrs Foote took action after Kelt failed to acknowledge that $313,213 paid to the stud from Mrs Foote's family inheritance was in fact a loan. I see Popsy survived and Kelt is back in ownership of Resurgent...5 years later.... Will be interesting to see how this one goes ! Popsy was'nt a bad mare herself ! A few people Sam owed may well be watching with interest..
  14. .Ivan Mauger a Legend, up there with Tub Warner, Bryce Penn and the Tank...LOL Yeah I used to love Saturday Night as a kid At Meeanee, the local boys would go around, week in , week out Until the big Nth Island Champs or NZ Champs in either bikes, saloons, stock cars, midgets or demolition derby... Best money ever spent on entertainment...until racing took my fancy...NOW WHAT? LOL
  15. My mates Lad (early 20,s), and another mate,( into punters club type social events at the races ) enlightened me of BGP,s existence. Good fun, well organised and can only be positive for the Industry. Lord knows, we need it ! and other similar marketing ventures, to lure newcomers to the game and showpiece racing. Instead of being a drab past-time, viewed by old has beens and scumbags, frequenting seedy bars, pokie rooms and sectioned off areas of clubs (easily by-passed) .
