I agree with your comment thought there would have been others share their opinion. I made the decision back in 2021 to leave the industry as an owner and handler due to the lack of proactive forwardness in the industry. Good on GRNZ for fighting but this should of been started early. I blame the past and present board members and racing managers and ceo's. But good luck to the good people in the industry with a over turn of the ban
Distance boxrs over the 600 plus will return to Addington. This is a decision for the postive for the industry as surely GRNZ would not fund this if the code is gone. I are looking forward to these races as a good distance dog is good to watch.
Seems the talk last week at the track Cole has not payed the fine for the 8 missing dogs. If this is to be correct some one has dropped the ball is it GRNZ or the RIB. Who is responsible for allowing this and is there no rules in place for unpaid fines
Heard that the Harness Racing Club in Addington has stopped all race meetings with Christchurch Greyhounds in the future. If there is any truth to this, what a disgrace they are, and surely the TAB have the say where and who hold meetings.

Get your stop the ban shirts out and everyone look your best tomorrow night.
Addington have just tried to tell us to take down our stop the ban signs from the electronic board for their dual code.
They don’t want us to display them.
Do our industry proud and show the public we are worth keeping.
This is very disappointing that another race code that collects rent revenue from the hounds behaves like this. I for one will not support harness code in the furture
I strongly agree. I shared concerns with the board, some that are still present now and management a few still have positions they had at the time. I, to this day, have had no correspondence or reply. It breaks my heart that they didn't care for welfare back then, and by the sounds of things, they are no better today. Its the grassroot people I feel for.
I was in two minds of commenting on here but decided to. I am an ex owner to this industry, as I have seen it going downhill fast. I discussed with my old trainer my options to get out. I, as the owner, had the responsibility to take care of my 2 hounds. They are now retired and live with my family and I. I really hope owners step forward to support their trainers and help with this sad situation. Thinking of all people that will be affected by this announcement
Yes agree and I hope Greyhound Racing has done the correct process. Was just stating my opinion on how I feel on Mr Bell. Sorry if that is upsetting. You welcome to delete.
More abandoned races tonight with no report as of yet. It will be interesting to see if shecduled races go ahead tomorrow at Addington. Come on, Christchurch greyhounds and New Zealand greyhounds sort this track out and do the work that you said that was required back in February. Both you parties should hide your head in shame if you continue to race there without doing what is required to bring this track to a safe standard.
I can only speak for my hounds and my old trainer. I give my retired girl and boy back to them when I manage to get away for a holiday and there is no money exchanged at all. I raced my boy for few years and as the owner I took responsibility of his retirement. The hounds first home loved them and still do.
