Sky dive by messrs Close Cox Orange was masterly ‘feel good’ promotion for Cancer research BUT could well have also been a promotion for Harness industry/participants if , say, TV and mainstream news outlets had ‘run’ the story….does anyone know if HRNZ semaphored this promotion to TV and mainstream news outlets ?

Despite the humbug of RIB website (seemingly) requiring viewers to take additional steps to access sites ‘news’ my yesterdays questions remain unanswered - is 900 fine a fact or fiction ? Is it usual for RIB to impose a penalty before incident is dealt with by Court proceedings ?

Now that HRNZ are without CEO and also a GM may i repeat question posed within my Jan19 post (Headline was ‘Racing, Marketing etc’) “opportunity for all three Codes to consolidate under the management of a single executive” what better time than the present ?

Friday post was made without any knowledge of todays NZTR declaration of their plan for their future….such a pro-active attitude is to be commended , of course, but begs the question as to why the other Codes have not participated in something similar…..also, how about other Codes engaging NZTR ‘machine’ to manage other Codes affairs ?

Irrespective of reason(s) for HRNZ’s current title holder to move on does it present opportunity for all three Codes to consolidate their activities under the management of a singular Executive. ?

Newspaper item says that it understands (quote) a large part of at least one defendant’s legal bill was fighting to stop the Racing Integrity Board gaining access to the police evidence which may have led to prosecutions under the rules of racing , for which the penalties including lengthy bans can be severe(unquote) Perhaps there exists some fine legal principles (read- dancing on the head of a pin?) but surely if abovementioned “fighting” created legal invoices for defendand/s to meet due to his/her wishing camouflage their position then those invoices are entirely of defendant/s creation

“The Optomist” ( 8may edition ) once again presents 2019 comparative figures for NZ racing V Racing and Wagering Western Australia and as those figures do not seem to have been challenged they are, presumably, accurate and significant but despite that the question arises as to why NZ does not function with only a single Authority as appears be the case in WA .....why?

Seven days ago NZTR ,via email, advised “stakeholders” of recent Court ruling on that old chestnut of GST on the deductions from stakes for payments to Trainers and Riders....any chance of HRNZ treating their devotees with similar heads-up ? (This year, next year, sometime , never ????)

With particular reference to Messara Report which one ( or all )of above summarise HRNZ participation in recognising reality of situation spelled out by Mr Messara ?......When the Minister fronted the presentation of Report there were several audience questions none of which , apparently, were HRNZ inspired and that lack of initiative /sense of occasion is further illustrated by the fact that HRNZ are yet to be seen and/or reported as having any "skin in the game" (conversely - TRNZ ten days ago sent an e mail to 'stake holders' seeking support )...
