Following the race Stewards reviewed replays of the start and acting under Rule 213(1)(e) declared the mare a non-runner due to unsatisfactory manners prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Does this mean she was a late scratching? If so, the TAB still has her as a runner. I threw my tickets away thinking she was a live runner. I just want to chuck it out there that Korbyn Newmans drive on High Flying Harry was lacking complete field knowledge and mapping. Why would you sit behind Martin John (renowned for great gate speed then takes a trail) with plenty of room to come out rounding the first bend. Your biggest danger is 3 wide and will no doubt press for lead if Martin John was still in front. Korbyn elected to stay in trail. Then at the 400m could have eased behind the parked horse and come out of the trail to pursue the leader.
