Sad news for sure. Mike was a good guy. Condolences to Linda and family

Makes sense, especially in Greyhounds, as there has been a lot of in-breeding/ line breeding for generations, so there was always going to come a time when that would show through. Now that dogs are given a chance to live longer, there have been more cancers, eye problems etc that would not have shown in the days when they were pts after racing

I had a litter of six pups. Three of them went blind. I have never and would never give my dogs any sort of drug that could affect them in any way. No vet can tell me why they went blind. They assume worms but I have my doubts. There are others here in the cd that have had one in a litter go blind. I am grateful that they are looking into why this has happened and have put my hand up for my dogs to be part of this testing (now all happily retired and living out their lives with us)

So sad to hear. Max was a gentleman and a good friend to many. We had a lot of fun and laughter together. You will be sorely missed Max. Condolences to Maxine and family ?

A stand down is a guide line for an injury. Some dogs heal quicker, some need longer and some are just misdiagnosed by vets. Deb would not run a dog that was not ready to run
