  1. It was good to see the trainers make the right decision scratching their dogs last night after the lure broke down in the c5 race at Cambridge, you just don’t know what injuries they could have picked up hitting the lure like that at full acceleration. Nice to see welfare ahead of greed ?
  2. I agree that a positive is a positive and the trainer ultimately takes responsibility regardless.... however I think the staff being blamed/tested is the same as if kibble is blamed it will be tested.... if canned fish is blamed it will be tested... if bread is blamed it will be tested.. The stewards are charged with the responsibility of trying to find the source and if the trainer points a finger at something then they will investigate it, it doesn’t make the trainer less responsible for the result.

  4. Yankiwi, the Schofield case was not a witch hunt, the reason the property residents were asked to be tested was due to Dennis pointing the finger at them as drug addicts & therefore the cause of the contamination. It possibly would have helped form part of Dennis’s defence if they had complied with the request. Before you ask, David told me this himself and I have no reason to have doubted him on it. Unless the same situation occurred in the proceeding cases I can’t see why they would also be asked to produce samples.2

    Ties

As someone that wears a tie to work everyday I hear ya.....however there are few handlers in other regions that chose to wear them and they always look smart and professional - far better than most .....and to be honest if I had the choice at work I would probably still wear one for the same reasons.
  6. I was told it was someone called Ivan in the photo that used to work for Cole ?
  7. I ageee, watching the head ons you could see dogs trying to side step the pools of water causing more interference than Aucklands inconsistent track conditions usually create!
  8. Does anyone know how the points system works for the category awards? Ie how many points for a 1st -2nd - 3rd and are there bonus points for a group win/placings?
  9. Not unusual for Auckland track to be shit!
  10. Anyone know what the draw is for the final?? Can’t find it on The dogs website & Its Wednesday already!! Pretty damn poor I reckon, should have been done and posted on the site on Sunday night!
  11. Worth noting though that while tights are not ok, there is no rule to say that you can not wear tight or fitted pants which I think are more the common place.
  12. Totally agree Yankiwi, bullying is NOT ok and frankly quite disgusting to be commenting on woman’s body shapes on a public forum.
  13. Can someone please tell me how the selection rules at Palmy apply, surely if there are two races of the same grade they should be drawn randomly, not all the best dogs in one race and the rest in another? (Both with the same prize money) There are 2 c4/5 457m races, should it not be either a c5 & a c4/5 or 2 evenly drawn c4/5 races? Id be spewing if I were fredrickson with his dog thrown in the tougher race or Walsh not having her dogs split between races! However I’d be laughing if I had one of the c5 dogs in the poorer race picking up the same prize money as the far stronger race!

    Thrilling Amigo

I would assume yes Cockyaleg. Although I think everyone is referring to the Harding breeding plan, Karen is a trainer. Im not sure what the date would be, maybe not as far back as 8 yrs but before then Harding had large numbers of dogs & staff with multiple trainers spread around the country. There seems to have been a radical drop in the last 5 yrs or so with Karen now being the sole trainer, and from the sounds of it she now does the rearing/breaking in - prior to this change it was done either independently or by other Harding employees. So I guess the “Harding/Walsh camp” is really only been in action post 2010 (again don’t quote me on dates) - Prior to that Walsh was just one of many trainers.
  15. Surely any dog that cramps this severely should get a mandatory 10-14 day stand down for muscle recovery? I’ve had severe cramp a few times in my younger rugby days and it was horribly painful at the time but I was stiff and sore for a good week!
