    There has been some ideas that are a bit mind boggling.the Southland situation regarding Wyndham and Gore is one that is a odd one,ain't heard nought regarding this does anyone know if anything's changed,no news. here may not be a good thing.

    It's just that one needs to be careful what one writes here sometimes .we often forget our comments here go world wide,for what it's worth I think Greg O Connor does good for harness racing,some I think are doing it more harm than good.

    You know while I think that the almost addington and invercargill only diet of trot meetings is repetetive it does kind of make sense to use the venues more ,when you look at manawatu and forbury there is a sort of glass half full situation here,while forbury race again this year is 10 meetings underusing a venue or a good amount,this is a hard one to work out aye.

    Kurow once was the start of the season,but in some ways it's been demoted a little because addington on friday weekens the fields a bit.

    Then there is the issue with tracks,riccartons been getting a bit of a hard time lately,while washdyke came up pretty good,so many questions that need answers.even if a all weather at riccarton should you close what's generally a good grass surface?

    They will move out to the country when things warm up but no southland sunday meetings until November, that seems a bit odd I thought sunday meeting were good days so why a diet of thursdays?

    Gee I wouldn't mind 500 to bet on a race,anyway I find the bookies telling us all these bets rather annoying,as well as the this horse trading this and this horse trading that,its not so bad just telling the odds but just a slightly less indulgence in some of the talk would be better,well that's what I reckon anyway.

    They often go on about problem gambling,would it be fair to say that those who bet 10 or 20 thousand have a problem.i know everybody is different and have different amounts of money but spending thousands is still a lot to risk and even if they win how long before they are restricted.

    The other day at addington there were 10 thousand and 5 thousand bets often,I often wonder if they just make it up to sound good

    No one can deny the All Stars are good but I think a lot of the small punters probably dont bother punting,might be ok for the big punters to pile on some cash.

    One talks about problem gambling,why then on trackside are we hearing about all the big bets 10 grand on this horse 15 grand for top 3 on this one,I know everyones spending is different,some spend 5 bucks some 5 grand but people spending large amounts may create the impression that some have issues,sure we all have different budgets I'm not really interested in what someone else spends,they probably not interested in what I spend .

    It's fair to say a lot are not relavent meetings because for most of there is no interest anyway.just a filler for trackside.
