  1. Yes. Works fine on my android (Samsung)
  2. I just hope this equipment he says they've been investing in includes a couple of ploughs and the people investment includes a few who can operate them.
  3. Sharrock did say on Weigh In there'd be no surprises!
  4. Agree. It's certainly not a "plan" as it is labelled. Just "we understand", "if" and "when". What a crock of shit if they are serious about their stated objectives. Developing a 5-year programme for reconstruction and/or upgrading of our key venues and a budget for undertaking the necessary work, and developing the order of priority for undertaking each identified track reconstruction/update Continuing to advance discussions on potential Bay of Plenty and Waikato Regional solutions and supporting clubs in in Canterbury and the Central Districts in an endeavour to agree regional solutions for racing, trials, and training in their regions, considering the expected impact of the synthetic tracks at Riccarton Park and Awapuni. Encouraging clubs to work together in regions to deliver a sustainable footprint of racetracks and customer facilities Where the fluck is all that. This is just more airy fairy nonsense.
  5. Yes. That's what he said, a 10% increase from $91m. But wait, the guaranteed all code funding level from Entain only increases by $5m. So where on earth are NZTR getting the extra from, especially if they plan to also increase the funding component allocated to fixing tracks. I might be confused. If so, someone will hopefully straighten me out but based on the record, there's a fair chance that it is Sharrock that is muddled up. The minimum level for 2023-24 will be NZ$170m (£86m/€99m/US$107m), up 36% on the current financial year. The 2024-24 figure will be NZ$175m, then NZ$180m in 2025-26, NZ$185m in 2026-27 and NZ$200m for 2027-28.
  6. Yes, didn't seem to be any explanation of that on Weigh In this week when he was on. I wondered if he might have been canvassing for jockey agencies to build his sports management business.
  7. I think if anything like the projected revenue growth comes within that time frame it won't be from TABNZ revenue from NZ racing. And unless it comes from elsewhere, we could see stakes halved from then. Just saying.
  8. Though that won't do much for the average starter number KPI will it?
  9. The trough is a problem or could be. Entain probably don't care if they drive NZ revenue or drive revenue for Laddies and Neds. All the same for them but not for TABNZ and NZ racing stakes. Just saying.
  10. Quite possibly but that will be up to the codes and TABNZ to agree won't it?
  11. As WD says, I'm assuming it is Entain driven because they want to maximise total turnover across all codes, not individual code turnover.
  12. It doesn't really matter much anymore does it because stakes are no longer related to or dependent on turnover/revenue? Only benefit/loss would be the individual club % of oncourse.
  13. Yes. What exactly do you think is improved TAB For Ever? Tracks? Programming? The handicapping system? The attractiveness of the wagering product? Please enlighten us.
  14. I watched it once and have periodically watched an interview such as the Sharrock one here. They are sometimes interesting but seldom very informative. The rest is simply replays of last week's races including major Australian ones, which most of us have already seen. I've certainly got better things to do with an hour out of my week. Hopefully, with Entain/TAB taking it over next season, it will become worth watching.
  15. What hard questions? As noted by Wingman, the Ellerslie debacle was like the elephant in the room. Sharrock has failed to comment on it up to now. He didn't mention it and the presenters didn't even ask him to comment.
  16. Don't know but it sounds like we are going to be subjected to more of the same drivel next season.
  17. It's our last show and we have an all-encompassing discussion with Bruce Sharrock, plus Paul O'Sullivan phones in to talk about his late father, Dave. Thanks for 4 great years, our stable of sponsors!
  18. Yep. Would have made much more sense to use that money to fund an extra couple of feature meetings on the poly in June and July. Tiered racing, pfft.
  19. With no feature meetings on the synthetic between May and August when that race is, it would be pretty hard to justify keeping a synthetic horse in work for the winter for that anyway.
  20. Like most things, horse racing becomes someone's passion after being introduced to it by a parent. Then, the parent and the passion become forever linked. That is no different for Lance Gasaway, co-owner and co-breeder of Mystik Dan , who is set to run in the Kentucky Derby (G1) May 4 at Churchill Downs. Gasaway's father, Clint, would make the nearly two-hour trek from rural Gould, Ark., to Oaklawn Park with Lance and his brother Greg. That began a life-long passion for the sport. https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/276534/gasaway-relishing-mystik-dans-run-to-the-derby
  21. I don't really see that aeration is likely to be a problem for the mesh. It seems usual for Strathayrs and Ellerslie may have done too little too late. It's just going to move the mesh around. What I don't understand is why you would add a whole heap more sand to what is already primarily a sand layer anyway. Can't see how that can help anything or anybody other than the sand suppliers.
  22. And Guerin thinks that 30mms on the day and 50mms for the week is an excuse for Ellerslie? Really?
  23. "Despite rainfall in excess of 250 millimetres, or nearly 10 inches, during the week, Sunday's FWD Champions Day meeting came off without a hitch, as local horses took home the lion's share of the HK$72 million on offer. “They did an extraordinary job, with these types of weather conditions, the ground was extremely fair and it enabled all the horses to participate,” HKJC CEO Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges said of the track maintenance team. “Nobody could believe that with over 250mm of rain how well our track performed and provided fair going on which to compete." https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/ceo-praises-efforts-to-pull-off-champions-day/
