  2. Why not Gamms. Makes it more fair if participants get to select if desired. How about another day-nite in a week or 2 time? Thinking to keep interest spread it to once every 7-10 days. Could do a couple of those meeting in Oz too eg Miracle Mile nite. Isn't that coming up sometime soon ish ... ?
  3. Have re-done ladder to points 10 Harewood 7.5 Roman/Milo/Richie/Teaz 4.5 Chief/Gamms 3 Karrots 1.5 Davis/Mikey NZ Its the number of participants and the winner gets that amount of points and so forth moving down list. So if moving forward in next comp tomorrow only 3 participants for example the winner would get 3 points, if 5 participate then winner gets 5 points, Those that equal shared the points divided by those that shared. Roman has his selections in now for Camb - so anyone else that wants to join in feel free. Perhaps someone else can select the next meeting we play at 😁 @Gammalite @Harewood @Chief Stipe @Milo @Richie @JTeaz @Davis @mikeynz
  4. That is so tragic. I remember reading a lovely article about him around this time last year and his horse Locksmith at the time, how it fell in a well or something similar in paddock after an evening back from the races at Alex and long story short after hours and help they got it out. And the road to recovery for it. Remember rooting for it to win for him at Stratford and Taranaki, due to the story being published prior those meetings and it won for him down there. So sad RIP.
  5. Haha love it. Ok cool we are on. You have Fixer, Spankem, Self Assured. I'll be on Copy That. Be 1st past the post. Let's do this. I'll take your number 6 spot I think you are, should you win on ladder & if you win, you get bragging rights. Now, I'll get Utter Rage if Copy That, hands up parked spot to any of your runners - be like 😡 Be like game over. I was thinking too he could come in for a crack at top from parked once they straighten up again. Should lead not be there 1st time.. Sweet our fun bet is on 💃🕺💯😁
  6. Haha, all good Gamms, you tots don't have to agree with me & you don't have to believe in the Camb corner theory. I took a quick look at Mach Shards gate speed, its hard when most are stands, & then hes had rough draws or been eased out of it off gate. But yeah, that Camb corner comes real quick, starting at the mile. I took a quick look at the race last year and saw what number 1 did Dance Time. And it was off the gate 1-2 length at the start, but B Mangos wanted to hold the top & hold the top he did as that Camb cnr hit real soon & gave the advantage. That stable had 4 runners in got (2nd-3rd-4th), Dance Time got last the other runner who held the top. It seemed they were trying to hold the Barry P runners out ironically Mach S and On the Cards. But anyways moving to this Fridays race, I would just about bet you anyway, that should Copy That sit parked over the mile at Camb, I find it more of an up-hill battle for your 2, Spankem and Self Assured to run past him over that shorter distance and with those Cnrs. You would be on the NZ Cup winner Miracle Mile winner with nothing to lose right. In my mind I would be thinking they would need to come 3-4 wide off potentially a potent last 400metres and if they sit 1 lenght behing Copy That + going 3-4 wide, well lets see shall we? A fun bet - no money just bragging rights? 😁😁 You hold the advantage. Mine could be parked the whole way ... what you say 😉😁
  7. Hey Gamms, golly no way, would I want to see a encourager free (my new word for whip) race. Meaning, safety for drivers is paramount. And the encourager would be needed. Maybe we could invite a current driver into the convo @AndrewFitzgerald Iv discovered this tag, not sure if it even works. Yes times change, imagine if woman were still not allowed the right to vote ☹️ Or if we still used the horse as our main means of transport, (I would not be able to reply to your message now, as I would of already have had to have left for my dinner out tonight lol). Its just takes time to accept change, and blend it so that it is a balance of what works and what doesn't within reason of that time period.
  8. I tried to stay out of this debate, mostly, without expressing an opinion as know it is a hot subject. Its summer holidays, so Karrots time on hands thinking horsey horseys. So, now entering in, both sides have put forward good debates. On the fence eg, rules are made and they must be followed - break that rule and you disrespect the rule and those that abide by it and those that made it. (shame - shame) On the other hand - I try to put myself as a driver and I want to win, I shake the reins a bit too much, for a bit too long because maybe the excitement, lost in the moment, the adrenaline, the crowd at Group 1 level, my competitor is doing the same. And shoot a duck, I have broken the rule. In saying that I remember M Purdon, lost his whip early down the straight in a race with Self Assured, and SA just strolled past them anyway, that made me think, ok, no whip was needed here, and he went past some nice OC horses in that race I might add. Also didn't the winner of the Mel Cup jockey make a point to say they particularly made a count of the whip rule and was talking in the ear & encouraging the horse in other ways, oppose striking again, as would of broke that rule. Either this recent cup or last years cup. Didnt the lass in Ride Like a Girl doesn't she try to get them to run for her, in other ways other than just the whip? It is def a tricky one. I personally do not like to see horses being beaten/savaged. Iv said that before. Encouraged yes - beaten no. In saying that if I have a bet & there is little encouragement I get RAGE - but still don't want to see the horse beaten - encouraged yes. But to what limit is that exactly ... ? What is ok and what isn't ... I can see both sides. Its tricky.
  9. So no-one answered maybe no-one knows ... In keeping eyes on it 👀 I spied this article on Lincoln farms pg today. R Green has same thought process as me. If Copy That leads he wins. But what if connections of Mach Shard want to lead ... his words as per article below. “It’s pointless going back but crossing them could be easier said than done. If Mach Shard wants to lead, it will make things tougher.” I think Copy That could still probably win parked. But much harder. What do others think? Yes/No? Bookies have CT fav at $2.30, not even worth doing that multi with MM, as MM is only paying $1.15 for a win! MM not even worth betting. Dumb Karrots thinks. https://www.lincolnfarms.co.nz/stories/ray-flying-mile-right-up-copy-thats-alley-and-if-he-leads-it-should-be-game-over/
  10. Wow, Basil, nice research, the naughty naughty hey, be like on the game of thrones, in shame shame scene.
  11. An updated article today HRNZ says he not going now to Oz. So yeah dead in the water.
  12. Be like this when sniffing out trouble 😅 Great love our new - temp A-team names 😊
  13. Was thinking too re trots, was guess work mainly bar 1 race. Yip, you/Roman/Harewood/me. Lets call ourselves the A-team. Until someone challenges & beats us 😉
  14. Iv made selections, the Group races were easier, Copy That & Majestic Man. Does anyone know what Mach Shards gate speed is like? Could CT cross from the mile start mark? Thinking come race day might have 1 bet, a win multi on them both, but not if Mach Shard maybe able to hold the top ...
  15. R1 Demolition Man R2 Dixie Reign R3 Mackali R4 Scottish Poacher R5 Majestic Harry R6 Santa Maria R6 Majestic Man R8 Jack Tar R9 Copy That R10 Thee Old Bomb R11 Sweet Treat R12 Call Me Trouble
  16. Hey @mikeynz think read that too somewhere, must be after Camb.
  17. Current leader board standings are - fields out today to start making selections for Fridays meet. Anyone else is free to join. Ladder Rank after grading round 1st Harewood 2nd = Roman 2nd = Richie 2nd = Milo 2nd = Teaz 6th = Gamms 6th = Chief 8th Karrots 9th = Davis 9th = MikeyNZ
  18. Looks like its going to be a nice race FFA pace mile, noms out. Its pref draw so can get gauge of draw. Will Copy That get his redemption over the now Cullen runners? Looks like he is going to have a slight draw advantage, but depends what those inside him do ... Majestic Man is looking like a hot fav for the FFA trot over 1700m, with no B4B or Sundees Son again pref draw. I'm excited for the 2 races and to see how the Cullen runners do, so lets do pick a winner over at the Harness Selections section, not sure yet how exactly it will work in adding up points from NYEs or individual ladder challenges ... @Chief Stipe
  19. @Chief Stipe think there is racing at Cambridge this Fri 8th, might be a couple of nice races when fields are out. Was thinking we could do round 2 of the Harness selections ... ? And then the next 2 times do South Island meetings ... It's been a week since the 1st round. I might go ahead and make my selections I think once fields are out ...
  20. I like all horsey horseys, bar the Trojan Horse.
  21. Oh I thought I had addressed that earlier in a post stating false accusations re Karrots maybe Chief. For absolute clarity for you Chief, as you requesting, No I am not, you Chief. I wonder what you would look like in a 👗 dress.
  22. Hey Chief, think that is you asking me back into respond. But all good. Iv said my peace. With responding to your post and speaking directly to you now has brought a smile to my face, as it reminded me of our 1st or 2nd interaction on here not long ago & it was me challenging you lol. I think it took you quite by surprise from your response lol. And we are cool, moved on from it.
  23. Lovely reply Gamms. You are always so sweet. Ill ask directly then the poster I am thinking of JJ. This is my observation. What you say? You see this is my observation of your posts, not personal attack on you. Your posts are in a much nicer affirmative tone, appear to be trying to pick favour or if not, much more toned down on and not to ruffle feathers on RC, then you come on here & regularly engage in toxic activity and heavy arguing debate. This is my observation from your posts between the 2 sites. You see, Brodie, Chief, Newmarket and also Forbs some of the most aggressive forthcoming posters on here even had the manhood to shut down and be like ok cool and move on when something was called out that they realized oh ok yeah all right, but you chose not to. A number of posters on here, refer to you on here as a know-all. Why do you think that is? My observation, you regularly are involved in heated discussion on here. In fact on this particular thread (now you have not long been back posting on here from a short getaway), you come on to allege that the majority of posters on here few deal with facts in this forum, then go on to potentially name-call, then follow it up with a memory lapse when trying to back up your posts and then don't have the time to check the research done and then fire another false allegation & so on, and then come out swinging again with further allegations I, Karrots maybe Chief. This is the most recent example, hence mentioning it. I have wondered about your intend and motivation what brings you here to post JJ? So what be it? As you said on this same thread you are fending off attacks. Why that be? I, on here are not fending off attacks as a comparison why that be? Chief I will not engage further than this, Ill dial out of this particular thread, Ill give JJ the right to reply and no-matter what he posts he can have the last say, even if its more tales or false allegations. I do not want this moved to the vent. Nite all.
  24. Gamms the thing that has me curious is why someone (not you) posts on 1 site in a completely different tone to the other 1. When they come on another site eg this 1, they engage regularly in arguing & toxic activity. Yet on the other site, a completely different tone is taken. What would the motivation be for that you reckon?
  25. Nice cricket. Go NZ if we are playing. No idea re Harness rep Racing NZ board sorry. I have not a bad memory & can touch type - so little effort from my end. I am only a user on this site. I check the other site prob every other day. Personally find this 1 out of the 2 currently the most entertaining & more topic threads posted to engage in. So it works for me 🙌 Althou the other 1 seems to have more traffic re views build quicker.
