Mark D
The lease may have run out but this was a high turnover TAB until recently. Manager who had run a very successful operation had been there for years had his hours cut - he told me that he regularly worked around 70 hours per week and was paid for 50 - to 40 hours. False efficiency savings. Nearest TAB is now Courtenay Place which is so inaccessible that people who live in Mt Victoria etc travel to Newtown to place their bets. As they have been doing for the last 15 years at least the TAB treats it's remaining loyal customer base (which is fast dwindling) with disdain. 2
curious
Yeahh. Probably time to close them all. Mostly an eyesore and a drain on the industry which had their day decades ago.

Probably one of the reasons they are forgoing the Pokies is that the savings they will make by closing branches will be far greater than the income generated.
