Huey
You've got to laugh at the quote on the front page on the Informant that says it's important the recommendations of the M report aren't held up by debate. How can there not be any debate when there hasn't been any consultation? Is it just me or has anyone read any diverse/balanced opinions to those supporting the M report in The Informant since the report came out? The crowd from BGP get to have a say this week about abandonments and how the M report will assist with that , have they seen how many abandoned meetings in Austin this week?
hesi
There are so many unknowns about the 2 key issues in the report, how can you debate. Namely 1. Outsourcing of the TAB Fine in principle, but you only do it if it is going to put a lot more money back into racing by circumventing the outrageous cost structure that had evolved 2. The transfer of land and assets from clubs to the national body Is the Informant suggesting the 20 clubs just rollover for the sake of racing Edited October 17, 2018 by hesi

Can anyone post the BGP article? This abandonment nonsense really winds me up. No one does any decent analysis on it. No matter how many ALL WEATHER TRACKS we have there will ALWAYS be abandonment's!!!! That's the nature of having racing run outdoors in a climate such as New Zealand's!! Geez there have been EIGHT yes 8 abandonment's in Queensland in the last WEEK due to heavy rainfall. Not only is the political BS around the abandonment's in NZ a load of rubbish - ABANDONMENT's are BUDGETED for! There isn't enough money in the pot for EVERY race meeting to go ahead. Considering the state of our tracks, our climate and geography we do damn well to have all the meetings we do have. Those that are abandoned are primarily due to MISMANAGEMENT!!!!!!!! 1
curious
All I can say is that the process is a complete joke and if it proceeds on that basis, they'll get what they deserve. I'm having nothing more to do with it other than possibly an odd comment on here. Even P4P seems to have withdrawn.
